I dont mind the WBC giving some trophy belt, but they need to get rid of the whole 'franchise belt thing.

I could've sworn during the Canelo/GGG fights, that they were separate belts. But you're probably right.

Either way, the winner of the fight isn't going to come out in his next fight defending the "Mestizo" belt, it'll just be for the regular WBC belt.

Canelo was never fighting for the WBC belt in the first fight with GGG. Canelo refused anything to do with the WBC and even told Oscar he didn't want Sulaiman at his press conferences, particularly if the WBC had no take with the event. That's why Mauricio made that belt for the Chavez Jr. fight, yet still, Canelo wanted nothing to do with Sulaiman. The first fight with GGG the belt was only on the line for Gennadiy. WBC Championship belts are always made, so for special fights the hardware theme can change, which imo makes it more valuable because only one would ever exist. but yes, it's just a theme and isn't the same thing as an Interim status or French Fry belt.
