Yup... Golden Boy headed to Thriller

A lot of peeps counted Golden Boy Promotions out after Canelo left and DAZN cut their dates. Yet, Oscar keep grinding the pavement to keep Golden Boy afloat. Gotta respect the hustle from the Golden Boy. DAZN will regret the day Vergil Ortiz is fighting on another platform kid is quickly becoming must see TV.

Has Triller done anything or plan to anything non-PPV? Are you telling me every GB fighter will have all their fights on PPV? They will need a regular broadcaster to do any kind of normal lineup, what they're doing is only sustainable for the occasional freakshow card, which seems to be what their interest is

Pretty sure the photo is only because Oscar is fighting on Triller...kind of ****** for DAZN not to broadcast that when you think about it. That WILL get views.

Triller believes - as I frankly also do - that "giving away" big fights or turning the business into a commodity as what DAZN and WWE have done, isn't the right answer.

A better answer is to simply make fights people want to see, and charge appropriately.

That model is working quite well for them. And it may be instrumental in helping to revive the business back to what it used to be.

You'll have Bob Arum over there offering $1 million to people while Triller is bidding $6 million plus without blinking.

Do I think paydays are out of control? Absolutely. But ultimately, I also support a world where fans are getting a bit too childish. They won't pay $60 for PPV but they shrug when fighter A who looks good but has a trash resume wants 60% in his favor.

We need to get back to whatever it takes to get guys in the ring and tested, and washed out if they aren't as good as we think.

Triller's model helps do that, actually.

Doubt it! I think this is just for Oscar own separate deal for his comeback

              This.

It'd be r3tarded for Oscar to sign with an outfit with no fooking TV deal. And say what you will about Oscar, but he's not r3tarded. Hell if that happened Oscar is in bad shape. I'm not even as confident as some are that DAZN cuts him loose. They need content & there aren't a whole lot of guys to deals with to provide GBP level boxing content or better. Even if DAZN is planning to cut GBP loose I'd bet its not for another year or two down the line & Oscar can probably secure a deal with Showtime or ESPN if push came to shove. Triller don't make no sense unless they get a TV deal or start an app doing longer form sports/boxing content.

DAZN will show GBP content through at least 2023. Signed a five year contract in 2018.

They have no PPV fighters. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the GB roster got fights on some Triller undercards but... nah. Golden Boy fighters are seen on Ring City, DAZN, Top Rank and probably now Triller.

I think from the jump, Ryan Kavanaugh plan was for Thriller to become an entertainment app. I mean Kavanaugh once owned his own entertainment empire that was worth billions. Doubt, he would have problems launching an app w/t all his business know how. Anyhow, I’m happy to see Oscar ain’t just sitting around while Hearn/DAZN continue to steal his talent.
