Even if it is in terms of competition it’s great for his fame in Australia. He seems to be very popular. They can build it as some WWE type Australian grudge match. He gets another training camp in to get even better. And he shuts this guys mouth. A m to KO a loud mouth ain’t too shabby.

After paying taxes and his expenses, I wonder how much of that 1 million ends up in a fighter’s pocket

Isn't Tim making $1M+ already. With how much I hear about him being a draw I'd assume he was. But I mean if a stripper is paying you $1M you're obviously doing something right.

Take it. Good money for a fight he should win, but a decent opponent and a big fight down under. It also allows Charlo and Castano to unify and further preps Tszyu for his big breakthrough fight in the US. Better than just sitting around waiting for his chance. Hope it happens next

Tim2 does need more good fights before facing the best, he has said that he's still developing so why not? Not sure about the 1 mill though, is it guaranteed or a maybe? US commentators need to understand that Oz is a small market for anything compared with the US so big money is hard to come by. What weights are they talking about?
