Clesrly ducked his mandatory shot vs Haney, when hearn and Haney were very vocal ready and willing to make the fight soon as Ry stopped cambell... got no interest with the whole "i got bigger fish to fry"... only to land Fortuna who is decent and will put up a challenge but again should ry prevail, will he actually take his mandatory st the back end of this year??? Ry fighting once ev 6 months isnt ideal for him id say.

Good match-up but Garcia should knock him out in style this is the same Fortuna who got knocked out by Jason Sosa and quit against Adrian Granados after getting manhandled while their fight lasted and complained of a fake injury. This is just a warm up for tank since Javier is lefty I could see this fight being very dirty though Fortuna likes to use his head a lot.

Considering how the kid was talking this is a major letdown. He was talking about super fights and delivered a dud in comparison.

I don’t mind this matchup though. Fortuna is a good test but Garcia can’t continue going around promising Pacquiao and Tank mega fights when it’s clearly all hot air.

the choice in BOTH of those matchups would have to be made by, Pacquiao and Tank

they are the clear A-side in both of those fights, but neither of them jumped on Garcia... so, why would you blame him?

Fortuna is not a bad opponent at all... and the point is, beating guys like Campbell/Fortuna clears a path for bigger fights, and limits Tanks opportunities

if Ryan wins, Tank cannot select Campbell or Fortuna, limiting his options

The fight with Campbell was, supposedly, also to become mandatory to Haney but Garcia wouldn't take it.

This is a risky fight, but great for the fans. He should have taken the Haney fight as the mandatory but it’s obvious they didn’t think he was ready for that one.

But hey I cannot criticise him for fighting Fortuna, as this is the sort of level he needs in reality. If he wins this one then I expect his team to get his one more easy fight before they think about him and Haney.
