atlas should take this fighter on and proceed with a new training technique,he has to make his fighter beleive that he can do it,if he uses the same training tactics as before he will not succeed,i think the language barrier will be to hard to over come, even with a translater the hot headed fast exploding atlas will start reverting to his old ways of getting fighters angry, hence a loss ala moorer

One day he received a call from Sauerland Event to see if he was interested in training Povetkin, so Atlas flew out to Russia to meet with him. [details]
To the best of my knowledge, Teddy did not train Tyson, or, rather, he trained him in D'Amato's gym for a couple of weeks when he was a very young apprentice traoiner-helper. Tyson was about 15 and an amateur. Teddy was about 21.

Teddy objected to Tyson paying undue attention to his niece, and threatened Tyson with a gun. D'Amato fired him. I don't think that Teddy was even working there for wages, he himself has NO hands-on boxing experience .

The records show that if Teddy fancies a fighter to win, it's almost certain "kiss=of=death".

I believe that he had about 7-8 amateur fights and lost about half of them.

It's good that Atlas will makes him lose weight.

Povetkin was gaining pounds and it was worrying.

I hope Povetkin makes it clear to Teddy to not predict for him to win.

that is pretty odd isnt it. but it seems like most heavyweight 'prospects' are really just typical heavyweights that havent stepped up yet.

not that Im saying that about Povetkin. I just think its clear that hes no longer young by any means.

but boxing age can vary a lot and depend on other things, its not just numbers.

I'd rather him just commentate with his analogies.

He's an overrated trainer at the pro level anyway, getting a bunch of credit for giving dramatic speeches in which his fighter didn't even listen to anyway.

This sounds like a good partnership to me. Atlas is probably longing to get back into the corner with a top fighter and Povetkin can learn a lot from Atlas' extensive experience and tough love approach to training....

Nothing Atlas can do will make any difference against Wlad. Seriously I would pick Wlad to stop any HW in the world other than big brother Vitali.

This is good for Povetkin, Atlas really knows his boxing, but he is annoying as hell.Povetkin will need more than Atlas to whop Vitalis ass.
