Those fans may or may not ever come back. He needs to be replaced with someone who is more into promoting the sport of boxing than he is promoting himself.

His fight previews are some of the cheesiest things in TV.
    Exactly. Good post.

Teddy hurts the popularity of boxing with his lack of personality, his negativity, his ridiculous scoring and his ****** bias.

He turns away casual fans. While MMA commentators and analysts try to create excitement, Teddy seems to be trying to reduce it. He's an overbearing, self-righteous moron.

Actually, I think when Teddy is on, he's the best color commentator in Boxing.

Yeah, I don't like him either. Annoying and dull voice, too.

Teddy Atlas is giving Max Kellerman a serious run for worst boxing announcer! It will be difficult for boxing to have a comeback when the casual fan is turned off by an idiot like Atlas on ESPN.
Atlas keeps repeating himself, because the fighters that he has to analyze do the same thing each and every round, what else is the guys suppose to say?

I guess, he can describe the fight by phrasing it differently, but you can only analyze one-dimensional fighters in so many ways.

Larry Merchant said it best, "Death by a thousand left hands", lmao.

I mean, think it about it, even the world's greatest fighters do not bring 20 million combos into the ring with them on fight night. For the most part, fighters use about 3-5 different combos.

I noticed that y'all are comparing Atlas to the Kellerman's and Merchant's, well, guess what, none of those guys are "boxing guys".

A better comparison would be comparing Atlas to Steward. Both pro-trainers. Pro trainers aren't exactly Shakespeare fans, ya know.

But no one else is as ****** as Teddy.

Manny Steward is MUCH better: more intelligent with a better voice, personality, tact, insights, etc.

I don't think ESPN was going the intellectual route when they hired Atlas, so why is anyone surprised that he repeats himself and comes off a little done.

I really don't mind Atlas and I actually think Kellerman is very good.

The hate the two get really baffles me.

On a side note, Joe Tessitore may be the best blow by blow man in boxing outside of Lampley.

This is how I feel. Also, his passion for the sport is very noticeable. It doesn't take a Harvard grad to understand the most subtle nuances of the sport. If I was a big Klit fan I might dislike them also. I also think Hopkins would be great at calling fights but I have a feeling that's not the most popular notion.

I agree, at times, Atlas 'over-analyzes' fights and talks way too much during the action. Sometimes the commentators need to just shut up and let the fight speak for itself....
