This is the same guy who will fight Josesito Lopez and say he’s a solid opponent since he beat Victor “I’m a tree” Ortiz.

Crawford is in the hot seat, the guy looked for the easiest payday which was Pacquiao for the last 6-7 years, can’t get a fight with Spence or Porter. He’s losing out on his paydays and now is being forced to fight Vergil Ortiz a fighter who is young and hungry. Crawford won’t get paid if he fights Ortiz so that’s why he’s dismissing the fight because he might lose and not get paid.

crawford to me is the next to get KO’ed. I feel like the boxing gods will do their jobs, Crawford 33 years old and still living off that 140 unification win over Julian Indoungo hahahaha

Could Vergil Ortiz use more development? Yes.

But if the young kids want the fights then let them have their shot. It will serve to develop them win or lose.

And it's not like Crawford is doing anything meaningful anyway. The talk is that he might fight Josesito Lopez next? GTFO. Might as well give Ortiz that opportunity.

Crawford is no Mayweather, not even close, by 32, 33 years of age Floyd already had a resume Crawford could only dream of. Crawford has not fought or beaten anyone Floyd had beaten already at Crawford's stage of his Career, I mean Floyd at 23 had already beaten Corrales who was way better than anyone Crawford has beaten to this date. And if Ortiz is so easy, why not take the fight? It's easy money right? And while this fight is not a Spence fight, this fight sales and would have plenty of money and interest, regardless of Ortiz is ready or not. Ortiz is not a easy fight for Crawford, he's young, a big true WW, real power, and willing to go through hell to win. All these excuses is nothing new for Crawford, who doesn't want to fight anyone dangerous and is trying to get out of this on as well.

This is a strange era of boxing....the beat avoid the biggest threats which truly makes the sport suffer and diminish to even less than niche status and at the same time tip boxers try to tell other boxers who to fight as a means of avoiding them. Crawford has literally gone his whole career without a p4p name on his resume after 3 weight classes....

            Here's the thing.

Crawford is basically dissing Hooker, his supposed friend, with these remarks.

He's saying Hooker didn't come forward and didn't throw.

He's also doing what NSB accuses Haymon of: using other fighters as roadblocks.

            How is this not ducking?

Crawford is right. That would be an exciting fight. Focus on the established WWs. There's a reason none of those guys, sans Shawn Porter, has ever seriously made an effort to fight him... and it has nothing to do with his promotional situation.

I agree with Bud, I actually think he's doing Ortiz a favor. Crawford could easily jump on the hype train and talk Ortiz up like his biggest challenge and fight him next. But I think it's a little bit too soon and only Ortiz benefits from a few more developmental fights while Crawford grows another year older.
