Hooker fought the wrong fight, and has no way near the ring intelligence Crawford has. Plus Crawford is a BMF... not like
    apathetic Maurice.

I think Commey would be a good step up.

I like Bud but it comes off poorly when he's dismissive of fighting of fighting the up and coming prospects (Ortiz) and also dismissive of fighting the other top fighter (Spence). I know he wants to call the shots but it's just not in the cards with the reality of the situation.

Top Rank doesn't have access to opponents that are established and will generate the buzz and revenue he's looking for while maintaining "A side" status. There's only one Manny Pacquiao and he shouldn't pin all of his hopes on getting that fight.

It would be great if he fought someone like Porter, Thurman or Spence. Bob is always complaining how much he's lost on Bud, perhaps let him fight on a PBC fight card against one of those names. If he wins and does it in impressive fashion, there will be more buzz for a co-promoted PPV event between him and Spence.

There comes a point where it doesn't matter how great a fighter is he still has to fight someone and it is getting really boring listening to Crawford. Even worse we have to listen to Spence and that idiot Garcia.

Ortiz is a decent puncher but he's one dimensional and so to was Hooker, it was just a case of the fresher fighter winning. They're not on Crawford's level and it would be dumb if GBP put Ortiz in with Crawford right now instead of milking him for what he's worth.

Crawford vs Spence is the only fight that makes sense.

So you want him to fight someone 2 divisions below him for a step up? Figures.

If Crawford sees flaws in Ortiz, he should fight him. He needs a bonafide opponent on his resume badly......Not that he'll win....

Oscar is probably looking at this like when he put Canelo in with mayweather, although for much less money. Put your young gun in with the best possible fighter, and as long as he doesn’t get blown out he raises his stock while gaining huge experience that will serve him down the line.

say what you want about Oscar, but he has never cared about protecting zeros.
