who gives a **** how many people it draws, its a good boxing match.

he did everything he had to,
    no he didnt.

    beat americas best (hopkins)
it was a close fight that could've gone either way. bhop deserved a rematch.

beat the guy who had loomed over his whole career (jones)
    c'mon jones was shot.

    beat americas brightest prospect (lacy)
lacy in hindsight is garbage, even coming up lacy was vulnerable. good win by calz tho, but that fight was just a jumping off point for calz's career.

beat the best guy in europe (kessler)
look, I can't deny that calz did something special at 168 lbs... but calz's career was just getting started.

had a big show off fight in wales in front of 80,000 (manfredo)
    omfg manfredo??? COME ONE!!!

had beaten a british legend (eubank)
beat tough challangers (Reid, Bika etc) defended his title for over 10 years, won two ring titles, amassed 46 fights with no losses..etc.....etc......etc.....etc
again, can't diss what calz did at 168 lbs, but he retired when things just got interesting.

    calz/hops II.

    calz/dawson

    calz/johnson (who he ducked 3x)

    calz/adamek

    calz/froch (for the uk champ)

calz/ winner of the super six

    etc....

Warren is mostly to blame for the fact that he got so few big fights before that. But in the big fights that he did get (Brewer, Mitchell, Lacy, etc.) he fought impressively.

Also, many of the so-called "bums" he fought were last minute replacements for other more credible fighters who had pulled out. Even Brewer was a replacement when Echolls pulled out.

And many of the other "bums" were mandatories. He'd have been stripped if he hadn't fought them.

He called out Ottke many times but Ottke made it clear he wasn't interested.
If Warren is to blame for Calzaghe not getting the big fights, then why did Calzaghe fight Roy Jones at the time he was free from Frank Warren when nobody was interested in it?

he didn't duck him 3 times, the fight just wouldnt get started because of joe hand injuries which have plagued him throughout his career.

he "almost" fought everyone. he wouldn't fight glen johnson. he never fought the "other guy" with 21 title defenses in the same division at the same exact time as him.

Pavlik is getting accused of ducking Paul Williams right now. So why shouldn't Joe Calzaghe be held to the same standards when it comes to Glen Johnson?

Calzaghe would put the same beating if not worse than the one Hopkins put on him. Besides if he would of fought him, you guys would probably add another American name or/and add him to the list of out of prime guys Cal beat.

Mainly because Pavlik isn't ducking Williams maybe?

                it's sport, people get injured.

                is Floyd ducking JMM?

                enough with this BS.

Yeah Johnson would be a bum with 13 losses and Cal would have ducked Tarver.
