Arreola isn't really even a gatekeeper at this point. He gets brought in to lose. It's a crime charging to watch Arreola lose.

Gawd, it is horrid ain't it??? I mean, the stakes in this monster fight are WAY better than fighting Fury for the undisputed HW championship, right? Thank The Good Lord Ruiz chose this huge bout to do anything to win.

I like Ruiz. I actually think he is good for boxing. But he is picking one fight too late to get truly motivated. There are some nice challenges out there for him, but he has a long way to go to get another shot anything meaningful.

Id rather watch Areola vs Bermaine Stiverne the trilogy. That fight would be brutal.... to watch, but they at least would be evenly matched. Ruiz should fight a guy like Charles Martin or Trevor Bryant. But I think Ruiz vs Luis Ortiz would be fantastic.I wouldnt pay to see this one though

Sorry I shouldn't be salty at Andy it wasn't his call to put it on PPV.
Are you sure it’s not his call? At the end of the day he would want the sort of money that was offered to him to fight Whyte, the fight that he turned down. And he earned big from the AJ fights, so his mouth is now big, he wouldn’t want to take a couple of hundred grand like Kownacki.

So he was probably told he would need to exploit his own to make those sort of money (AKA PPV), remember that the same thing happened to Charles Martin when he fought AJ, the money was soo good he went crazy. He didn’t want to get in the ring for less, he just didn’t have a Latino community that he could have exploited like Ruiz.

Supposedly Ruiz has trimmed down and gotten himself into good condition. This should not be a difficult win for him and his performance should provide proof that he is again ready to fight a top ten heavyweight. I's like to see improved version against Wilder or possibly Joshua again.

His handlers must not have much faith to match him against Arreola (no disrespect intended). Ruiz needs a live dog. Someone younger who poses a legit threat. Ruiz is still very much in the hunt IF he pulls his socks up and pushes himself.
