If Whyte doesn't get KO'd again and he wins over old Pov. then surely the fight to make is the trilogy as if will be 1-1 as there are better contenders above Whyte who after being sparked out sits at no. 6 behind guys who are unbeaten and haven't been KO'd. Although Whyte has only been KO'd twice they were both bad one's and he was completely out on his feet v Parker in the closing seconds .Good luck to him but I think he's blown his chance as he was a firm favourite to beat Povetkin and got cleaned out.

Little doubt the combo of copious PEDs and knockdown shots from Parker, Rivas and Povetkin have caused mild brain damage

Who is they? Hearn and AJ have the titles. Eddy does the picking and choosing, mandatories don't mean squat to them. Pulev was mando for years and Usyk has been at bat for more than two years. They, like Eddy isn't calling the shots.

yeah, sure, but its all moot now. How does anyone think his position in line remains reserved after getting KO'd? Not that there is ever anything sensible or fair about rankings, but I just don't follow Whyte's logic. He seems not to realize that the first Povetkin fight was an actual fight.

Everyone likes to hate on Whytey.

whatever you say about him, his fights are almost always entertaining.

Povetkin is the mandatory by the rules he takes over the position. Whyte won his mandatory against Rivas ,that was officially a final elimination bout . The logic would be the winner is the mandatory because Whyte won it and then lost it ,then won it back .

This probably doesn’t even mean much because no one is getting near the WBC belt in 2021 .

The WBC cabal confers mandatory status based on politics and their own pencil-written rules. Beating a current mandatory contender does not automatically confer mandatory contender status on that fighter; not according to anything I've ever read anywhere.

For all those saying that the interim champion shouldn't be mandatory... then who should?

If they're going to call a mandatory, shouldn't it be their interim champion?
