Just asked my dad this today

Who's gonna be the next cashcow/ superstar? Pacquiao is almost on his way out. Would it be safe to say Canelo is the face of boxing? Mike Tyson's name still holds weight but he's not a "real " fighter. Who do you think is gonna be the next superstar of boxing? And why?

That's like... half a story man. You gonna tell us what your old man's reply was or just leave that hanging there? Suspense is killing me here.

But yes it's Canelo... after that it'll be the next Mexican or Mexican American that the WBC and Vegas reckon will bring in the most money... Simple fact is they kinda got a formula now and the US is the biggest market for boxing and Mexicans and Mex-Americans are the biggest market within the US. It's possible an extremely talented and charismatic non-Mexican (or Mex-American) might be able to crash the party briefly, but the odds will be stacked against 'em.

Ryan Garcia's the frontrunner for the dude after Canelo but there's always a plan B and C, D, E and F.

Obviously it’s canelo right now and Ryan is the most likely next cash cow but it’s boxing you never know.

****, he couldn't even hear me lol, his hearing aids weren't in. I think he said Canelo, but Pacquiao is still the man. I agreed with him.

The winner of Fury vs AJ will be the biggest name and the biggest draw in the sport. As long as he doesn't then immediately lose to Usyk, of course.

Boxing won't have another Crossover Superstar Commercially anytime soon if EVER at this rate. Fan of Canelo but NO Canelo is NOT a Crossover Superstar, not as big as Oscar was not even close and Oscar did not have the Luxury of Social Media. Not anywhere close to how Big Pacquiao and Mayweather was either. He is a Boxing STAR but he is not a Crossover Superstar those guys was. That is nothing again Canelo, the popularity of this great sport has fallen Dramatically so it just doesn't appeal to Main Stream America no more and that is where all the money is...when BOTH fighters have the attention of Mainstream America THAT is when a fight becomes a Mega Fight. Right no No Fighters have the Attention of Mainstream America so that is why a lot of these fans we all THINK are these Big Fights will Flow like Wilder and Fury II did which didn't even break 1 Million Buys

Boxing fans are Delusional AF and it is verified on this forum daily, we lie to ourselves, it is like we're living in this Bubble Of Delusion and keep telling ourselves that "BOXING IS OK" "BOXING IS STILL AS POPULAR AS IT USE TO BE" when it is just...NOT! Now Mainstream America also have a legit and more Thrilling and often Times More Entertaining Combat Sports Option with the UFC and by the numbers that is what they're choose to do. Fans are arguing about 300K Buys being guys while UFC has broke 1 Million buys multiple times now even during this Pandemic.

Felt like the Announcement of AJ vs Fury being signed came and went, it did not create a buzz AT ALL and that is concerning but again it just confirms that the popularity of Professional Boxing is just on a Free Fall right now. People are more Excited who the Paul Brothers are Boxing Next and yes Paul Brothers PPV's will do better than any of these Professional Fights.

Mayweather vs Logan Paul, Tyson vs Holyfield III (if it happens) and Jake Paul vs Ben Askren will likely be the highest Selling PPV in America in 2021 and a REAL Professional PPV Boxing Event between 2 Current Professional Boxers won't even come close to that

I think it's this. Could be Canelo but the HWs are due to make a return and there's really no reason to dislike the winner of this fight.

AJ-Fury is only half assed announced. As much as fans want to say you have to be a hater to be skeptical, that's not true. Article jockey's are skeptical too. When the article writers are not skeptical then the article whores will create a buzz.

I think it's at least unfair to compare it to an actually done fight deal. They've signed an agreement to figure **** out in 30 days, that is not an agreed a fight yet.
