I don't think Bud is doing anything with leverage against Showtime. This is just a classic TR low ball offer cuz they don't know how to promote their big names. Bob himself is saying they are losing money promoting one of the best P4P guys around today & many consider him #1 P4P.

In real life if you reject the initial offer and the employer didn't budge, you run the risk of getting an even lower offer if you changed your mind because now you look like you're begging.

Lol, he's not accepting no 25% for this fight. If he's not getting what he wants, then he won't take the fight. The mandatory split is only if the fight goes to purse bid. If they can come up to an agreement beforehand, then the mandatory split percentage is irrelevant.

According to the thread starter, Porter is going to take the mandatory.

That means Crawford would get 75-percent of the pot.

Everyone here was screaming how this should be a 55-45 type split and how Crawford was ducking by not offering that type of split.

Now that he’s going to get 20-percent more of the purse, Top Rank deserves credit for how they’re promoting their fighter while everyone here proved they have no business playing promoter.

Shawn has not activated the purse bid. Which is correct. That's not the same thing, as I already explained. And there's still time to work out a deal, as I also explained.

Shawn wouldn't even bother having Kenny start negotiations if he didn't intend to call for the mandatory.
