If true then SHAWN deserves all the Credit in the world for accepting that 25% whatever it is just to make this fight

Hopefully DAZN, a App or somebody else come out of nowhere and give them both big money and piss Arum off again

      True.

Compared to Crawford who won't accept 40% to make the Spence fight.

Is everyone going to give Terence Crawford and Top Rank credit for not giving away money for free when they had all the leverage and Porter is only entitled to 25-percent?

        Of course not!

This is expected. There's no meaningful fight in store for Porter at PBC right now. Haymon can't provide anything more lucrative than the Crawford fight.

              "Lucrative"? I disagree.

Thurman/Porter II is a money fight. It just doesn't benefit either guy because they're both coming off losses.

BUT, if Crawford were brave enough to say he would fight the winner, it's a money fight for sure.

Porter/Ugas II is a money fight, especially if it's for the WBA, which then makes whoever ends up fighting Spence more lucrative.

They could also book Porter against Jamal James for his "WBA Regular" and setup the Ugas rematch to unify there.

Abdukakarov is IBF mandatory - they could book against Porter in an eliminator.

For bizarre reasons the WBC has Mikey at #2 - so they could book Porter/Mikey in an eliminator.

Porter actually has a LOT of options across the board. Him going specifically after WBO means he thinks he can beat Crawford - and that should be respected.

Lol, he's not accepting no 25% for this fight. If he's not getting what he wants, then he won't take the fight. The mandatory split is only if the fight goes to purse bid. If they can come up to an agreement beforehand, then the mandatory split percentage is irrelevant.

So for those asking "why doesn't Porter activate?" according to Crawford's trainer, he did.

But you have to understand how that works.

The first step is that the fighters have to try to work out a deal.

Kenny Porter made the first step by approaching Top Rank executives. That was just in late February.

WBO regulations give them 30 days to work it out for a "good faith" agreement. Arum's lowballs are not "good faith" - and WBO doesn't speak to how they handle the timeline if the offers are not made in good faith, but it does give Porter the option to back off and just force the bid.

Porter's trying to take the high road and make it work without having to force the bid.

Crawford has already publicly dared Porter to force the bid - which implies that he agrees with the lowballing.

                    Now, I have to ask.

If a fighter basically supports lowballing their mandatory now, when they didn't lowball their previous fights...what does that tell you?

                    Because Khan got $7 million.

So...to me, a "good faith" offer to Porter who's actually been champion at 147 on two occasions warrants at least a $5 million payday to start with and then go from there.

Should it go to purse bid, it's an 80/20 split if they fight in the US, so whoever bids would have to submit $25 million in order for Porter to make $5 million. That basically requires a PPV, same as Khan.

But Arum is PPV shy when it comes to Crawford because his PPV with Khan tanked.

Porter says that's because it was Khan, and the same wouldn't be true with him, if promoted properly. I tend to agree.

I suspect - but don't know for sure - that come April, we're going to hear a purse bid announcement for a May fight.

Here is Shawn Porter basically admitting to not having activated the mandatory. This video/interview with him is more recent. Your thread is invalid.

                      Crickets. Of course.

Let’s never bring up that we all crucified Crawford for having leverage.
