Comments Thread For: Fury Promoter Concerned With Inactivity, Wants Joshua Date Set Soon

Frank Warren, co-promoter for WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, is pressing to get a date set down for the unification with IBF, WBO, IBO, WBA champion Anthony Joshua. Earlier this month, it was revealed that both boxers had signed their respective portions of a two-fight agreement.

Tyson fury could have fought Agit Kabayel in December. He didn't, partly because fury is a slave to espn and Bob and they don't want to concede to Frank warren in the public eye. Frank may hang around Tyson but he isn't his real promoter. I bet Frank will get 5% but wants half (with Bob arum).
Its why Frank is angry at Eddie Hearn for making an announcement without Frank's ugly mug plastered all over the place.
they're trying to force him out and I reckon Bob wanted Eddie to do it this way.
So Frank will talk and act like hes part of the equation.

I’m pretty sure the Wilder court challenge is why Fury didn’t fight anyone in December. Warren is his co-promoter not a 5% guy like you suggest. Has there even been a report of what the courts ruled in the Wilder challenge? I have been too busy at work in 2021 to have followed the situation but neither Wilder or Fury have a finalized deal for a fight yet. Sure plenty of articles suggesting Fury/Joshua is done but what of the Wilder case? Until I see something concrete about the Wilder situation resolved I won’t believe Joshua/Fury is happening in June or July.

It had nothing to do with Wilder.
Inspired is correct tv & the promoter's wanted a February date because espn had no window with other more popular sport's taking centre stage in December & Bob top rank couldn't afford Fury's contracted money without a gate. So Fury said sod it fed up with being messed around & set up another fight which the same people again blocked for exactly the same reasons.
Like bob said theres a difference between making an appeal in the court of arbitration & there actually being one & Bob should know being a lawyer.
It'll be interesting to see if Wilder does get step aside though.

Fury wanted that December fight, what I was hearing was this, if Fury was going to have that fight then Warren has to do it under Queensbury.

It wouldn’t be under Fury’s ESPN deal, ESPN wants to use Fury’s last TWO fights on a AJ mega payday.

Hence why Fury isn’t happy himself, not only because of inactivity but he isn’t allowed to have that last AJ fight as a free agent.

I'm sorry Frank but it won't happen. Bob Arum is not going to lose money or go bankrupt by financing another one of Tyson Fury's bum fights inside of a bubble with no spectators. When there is suitable venue, date and site fee then the Joshua fight will happen but not before.

The fight will be when Bob Arum tells you and where Bob Arum tells you, Frank.

                Just sit back and wait.

Yep inactivity is lethal to boxer in their 30’s, but explaining that to people here is pointless after how they reacted at the performance of a 36 years old after almost 2 years layoff

When inactivity includes sitting on your butt all day. Yeah, it can be lethal. It's easier on the system to stay in shape, than it is to get in shape. Tyson should get a summer rental in Big Bear, Spring has sprung.
