It's the same scenario, why all the hate towards PAC?

If you ask me, Cotto is a far more brutalizing puncher than Ugly Boy.

All I hear from the mexic*nts is, "oh this is a dangerous fight for juan, he's coming up in weight"

All I hear from the mexic*nts is, "oh, PAC always wants his opponents to be weight-drained"

How the f**k do y'all know that Floyd ain't gonna come weight-drained, especially, he's coming off a two-year layoff.
Yeah because Pac is at 140 hes only moving up one division while marquez is skipping 140 directly to 144coming from 135.You see pac only moves 5 pounds while marquez goes up 9.

Ugh, PAC had to come up two weight divisions up to face De La Joto.

This is the first time PAC will really get a taste of fighter who is a real WW!

When was the last time Cotto fought at 140lbs?

When was the last time Cotto fought at 154lbs?

JMM called out Floyd so its not a bigger guy asking a smaller guy come up. JMM wanted this fight and Floyd's going to give him what he asked for!

You make a good point, but JMM has never fought above 135 in his whole career. Pac has fought at 140 and 147 before, I know he is still very small for the weight class, but he has done it before.

It doesn't matter who called out who, the point is JMM is moving up 2 divisions and a higher weight class and the PBF is moving down 2 divisions and a much lower weight class. In comparison to Manny which he is only moving up 1 division and weight class, and Cotto is not moving in any division at all and he is only coming down 2lbs. The bottom line is, there is much more hate on Manny than on any other boxer out there. For whatever reason it is, it can't be because of Manny. Despite the fact that he has shown so much class on every fight, from helping Diaz up after Knocking him out and also giving him the extra $150k for the fight because Diaz only made $850k for that fight, for giving much respect to ODLH and telling him he's still his idol after the fight and for taking Morales to the Philippines after the fight, all of those things to show respect and class and yet people put him down and mostly because he's Filipino.

            ‘Battles’ of beer

There’s truth to Pacquiao’s claim. Morales, who defeated Pacquiao in 2005, but was beaten by the Filipino boxer twice in 2006, has in fact become one of Pacman’s closest Mexican friends.

The two sealed their friendship over bottles of beer in their January 2007 commercial for San Miguel Beer shot in Forbes Park Mansion in Makati City.

In the commercial, Morales approached Pacquiao, broke into a smile, raised two bottles of beer, and handed one to Pacman, and said, “Wala kang katulad, Manny [You are like no other, Manny]."

Morales has learned to love not just Pacquiao, but also Filipinos in general. When Morales visited the Philippines in January 2007, two months after he was defeated by Pacman, he thought he would not be welcomed by Pinoys.

"I thought Filipinos hated me. We can’t even go shopping because I am surrounded by people who are asking for my autograph, talking to me and taking my picture. Of course, I am flattered. I love the Filipino people," said Morales in an interview with a newspaper in 2007.

Morales did a second commercial for San Miguel Corp.’s Magnolia Health Tea also in 2007 with actress Angel Locsin and basketball star Alvin Patrimonio. Morales ended the ad telling Angel, “Ganda mo [You are beautiful]."

Then there’s also ex-World Boxing Council lightweight champ David Diaz who was invited by Pacquiao to his 30th birthday bash in his hometown General Santos City. This came months after Pacquiao’s ninth-round knockout of Diaz, a match remembered more for the Filipino’s sympathetic gesture on the fallen Mexican-American.

Diaz was joined in the Pacquiao celebration by another Latino, Venezuelan KO artist Edwin Valero, who earlier engaged Pacquiao in a brief verbal showdown. Remember the dig “you-only-knock-tricycle-drivers-out?" Well, that turned out just pure business and nothing personal.

Even Mexican fighters who have not climbed the ring opposite Pacman apparently like him. During his gig with De La Hoya, Pacquiao got the support of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., Antonio Margarito, and Jorge Arce.
