Even if Whyte wins this poor PPV it doesn't say much other than last time out he was blasted out by an old faded Povetkin who has since had Covid and is a year older. There's some good fights to be made at Heavyweight , this is average.
It was a voluntary fight so the rematch clause was his choice and povetkin accepted that because he knows he makes more money this way.

If Whyte had won in the first fight against Povetkin what has Hearn got to do with the mandatory? Fury is the champion, Fury is with Arum and ESPN, and the WBC would call for their mandatory, it has nothing to do with Hearn.

Fury talked about not being told what to do when Whyte was talking about 10000 days as the number 1 etc and said he would not fight Whyte. That again has nothing to do with Hearn or the Whyte rematch clause, because we all know Povetkin would not be getting a rematch if he had lost the first fight to Whyte.

You are replying to a guy that doesn’t know much about boxing, apart from Stalking Hearn and Amir Khan (His trigger words) .... He wouldn’t know the difference between a voluntary and a mandatory fight.

Problem there would be that Wilder is tied up trying to enforce a rematch clause on Tyson Fury. And you can't blame that one on Hearn.

If that Interim title doesn't translate to a title shot then it simply should not exist.
That's how it's meant to work, yes. Meant to being key, tends not to.

I can't call this one, so quite looking forward to it. Whyte seemed to have no problems hurting Povetkin in the first fight before it all went pear shaped for him. Povetkin definitely got skills but is clearly much diminished by age. Whyte showed the holes in his style by getting KTFO. Will be interesting to see if both, one, or neither have been able to make effective adjustments.
