  • Comments Thread For: Joe Joyce's Promoter To Usyk: Let's Get This Fight Made For The Fans

There is still no agreement for the heavyweight clash between top contenders Oleksandr Usyk and Joe Joyce. The World Boxing Organization has approved Usyk vs. Joyce to have the WBO's interim-heavyweight title at stake. The winner of their contest would have a mandatory world shot at the victor of the WBO/WBA/WBC/IBF/IBO unification clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.

Usyk should hold up. There might still be an outside chance that he can get his mandatory shot against Joshua.

Get clarification on the Wilder/Fury legal situation first.

A.J isn’t going to fight Usyk and then keep negotiations open for a venue for this summer for Fury ,with millions being thrown at the decided venue and Fury isn’t going to fight Wilder next and do the same thing with taking a fight A.J back to back . You just don’t get it .

There had to be an agreement between the WBO and Team A.J because that was the only reason the WBO ordered the Joyce fight ,it’s actually up to them to make the purse splits for a vacant belt so they are probably waiting on the confirmed date for the undisputed fight and then will make the Usyk or Joyce vs A.J fight after the undisputed , that belt will be vacant .

Usyk isn’t waiting on the fight with A.J because the WBO is ordering him to fight Joyce and not A.J ,he’s getting his mandatory shot if he decides to wait until the undisputed is over and or maybe not if he refuses the Joyce fights he may lose his position , however that works ?

And lastly you, really have to let the whole Wilder will get a fight next go because you lost that one months ago if you were educated you could have figured that out .

What Usyk's promoter said in the interview I listened to was that the purse split in an interim title fight is based on the average of each fighter's last 3 declared purses. According to him, if that was strictly applied, the split would be 93/7 in Usyk's favour. But the WBO rules don't allow anything wider than an 80/20 differential. So 80/20 is what Usyk expects to get if it goes to a purse bid.
