You make it sound like Tyson Fury hasn't spouted absolute bull**** to the press before?

Both promoters have said it's on and signed with just venues and date to sort... that should be enough. Obviously will be a little more excited once there's a date and a venue and I guess maybe it could fall through... but i'm pretty someone with Hearn's ego would not announce this unless he was 100% sure it was going to happen else he would have major egg on his face.

Both parties signing is a step in the right direction but this isn't a done deal yet and can still fall through because there's still some things that have to be agreed/worked out.

I don't want to ruin anyone's excitement but I don't think we should get our hopes up until there's an agreed date, venue and an official press conference has been held. At this stage, it's good news that both sides have signed and things seem to be progressing but this isn't a done deal just yet.
Ultimately i think there is just too much money in it for it to not happen, everyone makes money in this venture. Talking about a possible £49.99 uk ppv tag, could possibly do 2mil ppv just from the uk market, thats £100mil revenue just from uk ppv. The money this fight is going to gross is going to be crazy, esp for a pair of brits. Main thing they both want the fight and backed there words by signing. As much as id love it to land in vegas as uk is out of the equation, i got strong inkling it will land in middle east where a mega fee will be paid to stage it

Someone aksed Eddie have you signed and he said yes .. end story.

So 6 months ago they agreed the split, yesterday they agreed the promotion rights and TV which was complicated (see Arums explanation).

They have 30 days to agree the site, this process was supposed to start now but given the time constraints Eddie started earlier in parallel. He wanted an agreed fight to sell before going to the Saudis etc.

In 30 days AJ or Fury could optionally pull out IF there is no agreeable site/ site fee, they don't have to pull out at 30 they just can.

        Seems pretty simple.

If Eddie had replied no one has signed the fight was effectively off.

Good post; thanks for elucidating with these details.

Can't see it being 50 quid -- just too much of a jump from the regular price point. I think they'll go 30 quid, which is a premium but not enough to discourage anyone.

This is supposed to be a quote from Frank Warren; "We have a couple venues".

No Englishman alive says "a couple" without adding "of" afterwards.

Either Frank said "We have a couple of venues" and you edited his words or you made the whole thing up.

We have only really seen Tyson Fury speak, and he was not so keen on fighting Joshua next.

You would think you would get the site and date sorted out first.

Usually fights are announced straight away with a date a venue.

That should of been sorted out first.

You think the fight was *Announced or leaked* because they think Fury doesn't want it?

Excellent post. Options are part of contracts... its hard to explain exactly how they work. In this case, it sounds like this is an options type scenario: if a venue is found in X amount of time, the promoters exerscize their right to have fight... If venue is not secured, either fighter can exerscize his respective option to either agree to fight, or not.

It makes sense that a venue secures the promise to deliver from the main attraction, before entertaining a proposal for the fight... No credible group would waste time and money doing a proposal otherwise...

A contract involves more than a signature... there are a lot of moving parts! I hope this fight happens... I understand why promoters want to stay positive. Eddie has motive to spread good news, regardless of "how good" the news actually is lol. I would feel a little better hearing something from Fury at this point. If Fury wants this fight he would be motivated to talk it up...

If Fury didn’t want the fight he wouldn’t have signed on it .

You did hear someone from Furys side ,Arum telling you the fight was agreed to, and he hasn’t come out and said the fight isn’t signed . You know why ? Because he doesn’t want to talk about the fight ,so feeling the need of confirmation from him when he was the one holding off speaks volumes again what you contradict on here ., you didn’t even believe Arum now you want him to talk ?

A contract does not involve more then a signature because that’s every small and big detail they’ve been doing for months now ,only in this instance a venue isn’t decided and is part of the contract based off the Covid situation, you just talk around points I’ve already posted then repost them in your own views .

That doesn’t even make sense , can you make it make sense and describe these options you keep repeating ? What is for consideration? Your just posting random words now . Ha
