Is Abel Sanchez overrated as a trainer?

I know he trained Terry Norris who was an awesome offensive fighter.

But his work in the corner last night with Braekhus was pitiful.

His work with Breazeale was garbage also. Unfortunately I think he is over-rated. He just says a lot of the same things for all his fighters that doesn't really help at all. That and he doesn't ever seem to have a good plan coming in or gives his fighters options to be dynamic. To be fair though it seems like a lot of trainers suck right now.

Cant evaluate his time with Norris, watched his fights, but never paid attention to what Abel has done.

But going by what he is doing in the past years, he seems to be a very limited trainer.

Golovkin had an olympic pedigree as a base that matched well with what Abel is doing, but even then I actually think he made Golovkins style a lot simpler.
But if we look at the other fighters that he recently trained, it looks like he can only really train a specific style. He works well with physical strong and durable fighter, but who are not really athletically gifted, able to bring them to a certain level, but its not enough to win against elite level fighters. He improves on the compactness of the guard and improves punching technique.

Ryan Martin - basic high guard, slow feet, stiff
Arsen Goulamirian - basic high guard, slow feet, stiff
Murat Gassiev - basic high guard, slow feet, stiff (but was able to get through with his crazy power)

In Gassiev vs Usyk you could see that they didnt plan for anything else other than, come forward and try to land something big.

That seems to sum up Able's game plan up, that and punching shoulders. Haha.

Very Overrated! This was said when he was Training GGG but hey I guess fans took it personal and would defend him simply because he was GGG Trainer at the time but now that he is no longer GGG Trainer I guess they're OK with him being called Overrated Now

Isn't Abel the type of guy who trains like 10 active different fighters? That is never a good look imo. Bradley seemed to do better against Pac with him compared to Teddy.

Tim Bradley trained with Joel Diaz not Abel Sanchez.

Incredibly overrated trainer. If GGG didn’t phone him up one day nobody would know who the hell he was

Extremely overrated as a boxing trainer but probably very underrated as a conditioning coach but I guess even a lot of that falls down to the altitude.
