    Non-Scoring Criteria

The 10 point must system says that you look at clean punches, effective aggression, ring generalship, and defense. So how come you have fans saying stuff like "so and so talked all that **** before the fight and said he wanted a real fight but all he did was run, therefore he lost round." WHAT?!?!?! This is not a a scoring criteria. Why do fans act like it is? The last time I read up on the rules of boxing there was no category for "did the boxer say he wanted to knock him out pre fight?"

Judges aren’t robots either. You think they’re committed to NOT READ industry hype? Circumstances matter. Title fights vs non title fights don’t have the same weight, and some judges just accept the way things are and not get involved with the politics since everyone plays the same game. For example, what if CJ Ross knew for a fact that PAC had been juicing for a particular fight, or if she had any disgust with seeing Floyd have multiple injections on his abs?

You need to put all that aside. Have you ever been to jury duty before? The first thing they tell you is that you need to forget about everything you know, in fact they throw you out if you know anything about the defendant. Judges and juries look at what's in front of them only and not what's outside of the courtroom. This should be no different in boxing. You look at what goes in inside the ring and only what goes inside the ring.

I honestly never came across people who made that particular argument.

What annoys me though is that a lot of boxing fans dont understand that scorecards can have a range of scores. There definitely are close rounds in boxing that can go either way.
Whenever I read someone saying fighter A definitely won and his own scorecard reads 115-113, I have to shake my head.
(There are of course clear cut fights in which 7 rounds clearly go to one guy and 5 rounds to the other, but often those discussions are in fights that have about 4-6 very close rounds.)

I agree with that. At the end of the day knockouts are the only way to guarantee you a win.

Never heard anyone say that either. I never heard anyone claim, for instance, that Joshua lost any rounds to Ruiz because he couldn't stand and exchange with Ruiz. He may have lost a little respect in some fan's eyes but they aren't claiming he didn't win the rounds fair and square.

It’s not the same at all but I agree with you.
