When a PBC fighter makes such headlines where these names are tossed around as backups if no Charlo fight it clearly demonstrates that Haymon has made financial promises and perks to Catasno if in the event they vacate the IBF. A swarmer like Castano could be risky for Jermell. Haymon wouldn’t want Castano beating Jermell with Undisputed. He can’t sell Castano. Haymon won’t want MainEvents going for unification with Jermell. Crawford vs Spence have displayed the politics.

I like Charlo in that one but its the best fight. Id love to see him with Hurd. But Hurd and Harrison dropped off the planet I think,.,I want to see Lubin and Harrison fight. Or Lubin vs Fundora.

I thought there would have to be an eliminator for the IBF to order a mandatory. This is why they should go ahead and stop delaying with these fights. The longer they wait the more time goes by for this stuff to be due. Go ahead and make the Charlo-Castano fight for undisputed at 154. Have Jermall Charlo go up and debut at 168 and fight Danny Jacobs. Throw in Hurd vs JRock 2 and Lubin vs Harrison or Lubin vs Bakhram Murtazaliev as an eliminator for both the WBC and IBF on the undercard. Maybe open with a unification at 122 like Nery vs Fulton or something similar. Thats a good PPV for Houston since Texas is open

Really, really hope we get the full unification next, it's a legitimately great fight. IBF needs to push the mando until after the unification. If Charlo does win and moves up, there are A LOT of great fights to be made for the vacant titles. So many contenders at 154, that it would probably do the division good to have all those guys in major fights after the belts get unified instead of one champ forcing everybody into line and having to deal with weak mando's.
