This guy was ranked number 1 before Canelo even moved to 168, I found out that Yildrim was aligned with PBC and that makes sense why he was mandated TWICE for the belt, even after failing a drug test.

So you really have to start questioning the role of the WBC and PBC together.

Yildrim already fought for the belt and lost, he was then mandated to fight Benavidez, who then lost the belt on the scales. Canelo only just inherited him as a mandatory.

I've never been a cultist. I just defend them when I think it's warranted, but I criticize them when I think it's warranted too.

In this case Yildirim's mando spot can be traced right back to PBC. With the WBC's participation obviously.

IIRC Yildrim was made mandatory for Benavidez because he was starting to come on against Dirrell until Dirrell quit with his cut. That was BS #1 but then throwing the WBC belt into a unification fight against their own rules was BS#2 since Yildrim should have fought the #2 for the vacant belt. BS#3 was then calling Yildrim as mandatory right after that when he should have lost his ranking when the WBC broke their own rules.

But it’s not hard to forget all of that when Mauricio makes weekly statements as if he’s Canelo’s promoter (or father)

Bullsht lol. How was he the #1 contender after a 2 year layoff? Fcking snake.

I had to explain to my wife when they said he’s the #1 contender but hasn’t fought in 2 years. I told her not to try to make any sense out of it because it even drives hardcore fans crazy. She was very confused as to how that can happen. It’s so ****** and I feel bad for both Canelo and Yildirim. Canelo because he is just doing his job and Yildirim because he was put in there basically to get beat up.

The Dirrell fight led to his ranking. Then when Benavidez failed to make weight against him and lost the WBC belt on the scales Yildirim kept his ranking.

None of that had anything to do with Canelo. It was all PBC-related, their fighters simply kept messing up the plan so Avni stayed in the picture.

I don't want to fault Canelo, but when he was at middleweight he never fought his mandatory Charlo. Maybe it was boxing politics that it didn't happen, and I think Canelo would actually have the edge over Charlo, but yes, that fight never happened.

Hopefully Canelo will be taking on Benavidez and Charlo at super middleweight, not to take anything away from good fighters such as Plant and Saunders.

Sampson who happens to be benavidez manager, claimed they are fighting Yildrim instead of Plant back on 2019 ending/2020 beginning.

He claimed they want to build up the Plant fight, and Yildrim the (Mandatory was their next fight), then Yildrim failed a drug test, the WBC then cleared him with a written statement that was put out. And they still made him their mandatory..... So the benavidez fight was going to go ahead as planned by Sampson.

Exactly. Ppl moaning about Canelo fighting Yildrim but he was put there to suit the PBC cuz they would rather of had 2 champs in their stable and not have them face so Yildrim was elevated to fight Benevidez instead of Benevidez and Plant matching off.

Its mainly the PBC boys moaning about Yildrim but he was put there for the PBC fighters in the 1st place.

It takes TWO to tango. They cannot force Charlo to fight Canelo. His own brother claimed he turned the fight down. So as much as we push Charlo towards Canelo, that fight can only happen if both of them are willing. And from the past actions of PBC and Charlo it doesn’t matter that the fans want it, it would not happen.

With Benavidez it’s the same thing, he wants those fights but his owner Sampson and PBC wouldn’t let him off the leash. The moment we the fans start seeing this things the better.

We cannot sit there and pretend that PBC doesn’t prevent fights from happening, when Arum use to do it we were all in unity and criticising him.... for some reason people are now playing politics like PBC aren’t doing this.

The fact that Benavidez wanted to fight Plant, claimed Plant was ducking him etc, until his own manager then came out and said that fight isn’t happening yet, and that they want to build that fight up into a PPV fight. Thus making Benavidez look like an idiot for accusing Plant of ducking him.

Same scenario for him fighting Canelo, it’s not going to happen unless PBC or Sampson Lu says so.

That mandatory spot was no accident, you just know something had to be going on under the table. Maybe with Turkish tv or the tourism board comp’d everybody vacations, who knows.
