Ward by close Decision. I have always viewed Dre as a special fighter who is able to do many things and formulate plans on the fly.

I think it would take that level of versatility to beat Canelo at this stage, who I consider to be the current number 1 P4P.

I don’t think it would be easy like Floyd vs Nelo. Canelo has improved since then IMO.

Canelo by decision, it's a foregone conclusion, nobody is decisioning Canelo with at least one judge on his side. Canelo has an elite chin, but he isn't knocking out elite opponents either.

Ward and it wouldn't be that difficult.

Canelo is a beast but he doesn't do anything particularly bamboozling for a guy with an ATG boxing brain like ward.

Put it this way, I still think canelo vs the top 168lb guys like Froch and Kessler is no better than 50/50, those guys would have smashed yildrim, Smith etc to pieces too. And ward was a couple levels above them.

          Canelo by KO.

          1. Ward doesn't have the power to keep Canelo from coming forward.
          2. Kovalev showed how easy it is to knock ward down with a short clean shot. Kovalev just didn't have the accuracy and punching arsenal to do it at will. Canelo would land better jabs, left hooks and upper cuts on ward all night. Way better than Kovalev was able to accomplish.
          3. Ward showed weakness when shots landed vs Kovalev. Canelo is a master at landing. Canelo's power, precision, and accuracy would wither ward down and cause him to shell.
          4. Similar to 1, Canelo's chin and punch resilience is elite. Ward won't be able to do what he did to Kovalev.
          5. Canelo's defense, head movement, and his and ability to instantly counter will discourage ward.
          6. Ward's defense is flawed, he bends forward a lot. Canelo is a master at capitalizing on fighters that do this. Canelo would be timing him as he bends forward with massive left hooks and uppercuts.

Ward is hyped for beating Kovalev. Looking back at the footage, Kovalev although good with his own style, didn't have the robust offensive arsenal to catch ward more frequently. Canelo does have that arsenal and power and it would make all the difference.

If we are talking about that Ward in the Dawson fight, then Ward loses wide. That was also a weight deprived Dawson with the fight almost pulled. It’s hard to gauge animosity (if there would be any) between the two, meaning, Dawson was able to hit Ward in spots that Canelo would TOO with ease. I think Ward would respect Canelo’s power too much and not commit with leaps in because Canelo can see it. If there’s animosity, which I don’t see why since it’s not in their character clashing, then Canelo wouldn’t have to go for broke and KO him. With Ward on the flee, Canelo wins

                  - -Wart don't beat any great in a legit fight. Only legit fight the sissybwon in Supersix was vs TBA emergency replacement Greene who never recovered after having most of his bowels removed a couple years previous. Every other fight was low blow, headbutt, elbow, grapple, jab, and then rinse and repeat. Requires a ref and commish with glass eyes on the take.

Ward wins 8 rounds to 4 no doubt. Stylistically he is a bad match up for Canelo. He has the physical strength as craftiness to get the better of him on the inside, has the foot speed to frustrate him and has a very underrated jab which Canelo has issues with. There’s a reason why Golovkin, Kovalev(before the KO), Trout, Lara, and Floyd were tricky for him.
