I'm kind of a PBC fan but to waist a previous network tv date on Dirrell/Davis and a garbage undercard is crminal. Especially considering how deep their roster is. Respectable fights on free networks is the way to get boxing back in the main stream again and PBC failed miserably tonight. This issue is compounded by Arum giving us Lopez/Loma and Valdez/Berchelt in the last few months. And no I'm not an Arum fan at all.
PBC should be ashamed

This was a terrible card for sure. The Showtime fights have been even worse. It's bad when even Arum is putting on better fights. This whole era is lackluster and trash compared to the 90's-00's. Boxing has gone downhill a lot. It's sad when people would rather see youtubers, MMA guys and washed up old guys like Tyson boxing instead of top boxers.
The DAZN card was trash tonight too. -
2021 was pretty rough for pbc so far. Only decent card was Leo Vs Fulton, but that didnt involve any big names.I'm kind of a PBC fan but to waist a previous network tv date on Dirrell/Davis and a garbage undercard is crminal. Things will pick up again for PBC on Fox and Top Rank on ESPN, I think a lot of big matches are being held off with the hopes that this Pandemic will let up with these " Vaccines". Promoters are suffering without that Gate money no matter how big or small attendance are that is still a lot of money being lost. This Fight Bubble Limited Crowd stuff SUCKS, all of it for the most part but it must be done for now. At least it is Free and they're not trying to sell as PPV's but yeah if you're keep the budget low for Boxing for now then just Showcase more young talent
Budget being reserved for bigger fights later this year most likely but things will pick up again for sure it is only February relax! Boxing fans always want MORELast edited by sicko; 02-28-2021, 12:15 PM.Comment

The PBC card wasn't an all-time classic for sure. But the Dirrell/Davis fight was interesting. I openly wondered before the fight if Dirrell was doing a cashout tour. However, he fought hard and with passion being 36 yrs. old. I think we may have saw the beginning of a star in Kyrone Davis at 26, in his first fight at 168. This fight may tell us more when we look back on it in a few years. Given these guys ages and point in their respective careers, this fight had passion, was well fought by both, ebbed and flowed, and showed flashes of the greatness in both fighters. Depending on where Kyrone goes from here, this fight tells a lot. It was a respectable note on a decent career by Dirrell, who still fought with skill and fire at 36.
Every NFL or NBA game that is shown on TV isn't memorable, so neither will every boxing match. For true fans though, there will be glimpses of things that become important later ... in terms of understanding and evaluating fighters, their tendencies, and worthiness in contests against others. Invaluable stuff for real fans.
We live in a time now where every event is measured against the best similar events of all time ... and it's just not fair. The attention span and interest level of people now is only affected if they believe they are watching a historic affair. Says a lot about the people watching. History is always built on small pieces that most overlook. Only on analyses later on, are the components of history understood by many. These fights (that are being knocked) are pieces of the history to come.Comment

I thought the card was garbage as well. The only thing good about it was it was on free TV. The sport as a whole really suffered last night because the cash cow was in a garbage fight no one cared about and all PBC could do to counter program against it was put up a fight that somehow was worse than that.I'm kind of a PBC fan but to waist a previous network tv date on Dirrell/Davis and a garbage undercard is crminal. There's a global pandemic going on, dude. It's pretty clear PBC is not interested in doing many significant fights until the pandemic is over and things are back to normal. Theyve done a handful of shows probably to let their guys get a little money and provide the minimum content to their broadcasters, but that's it.Comment

Yikes!
That list does look bad !
I love seeing fights on TV but yeah, PBC should try to get some better scraps to air.
