Comments Thread For: Trainer: Zhang Zhilei Wants Hrgovic, Chisora, Whyte Or Povetk...

MIAMI - Jerry Forrest is a step up in competition from Zhang Zhilei's last opponent. The unbeaten Chinese heavyweight contender and his trainer still had hoped to fight someone more formidable on the Canelo Alvarez-Avni Yildirim undercard Saturday night at Hard Rock Stadium in nearby Miami Gardens. They appreciate the activity promoter Eddie Hearn has afforded Zhilei, but their plan entering this 10-round fight is for the strong southpaw to defeat Forrest so impressively that he'll get a more proven opponent in his following fight.

This guy steady boxing low level guys hoping beyond hope to get AJ in China. Best W is Rudenko ffs. Guy is gonna be 38 in a couple months. I'm rooting on the upset tonight so we can quit hearing about this mofo begging for a title fight to cash out.

That's what I really hate sometimes, it's been clear for a few years, he's just hanging on, fighting the lowest ranked opponents he can get away with, hoping for the call and payday from Eddie Hearn. He should have fought the other Chinese HW, who is unbeaten, can't remember his name but he went by the Dragon King.

If he was a legit contender, he'd have went through the likes of Parker, Whyte, Ruiz, Povetkin, but he wants nothing of anyone with a pulse. I think they should rework the top 15 rankings in each ORG, where you have to have beaten at least two guys from the top 15 list, to be able to fight for a title. Too many undeserving guys are allowed title shots and it's a bit of a joke.

He beat Rudenko which I would say is his best win. He beat the usual journeymen but Forrest will be his 2nd best opponent. Let’s see how he does. I always have a hard time getting past him getting dropped & almost beat by trialhorse Juan Goode...
