  • Comments Thread For: Lopez-Kambosos: Triller Fight Club Wins Rights To Title Fight With $6,018,000 Bid

Triller Fight Club's Ryan Kavanaugh has secured the promotional rights to Lopez's mandatory title defense versus Australia's George Kambosos Jr. The Triller CEO submitted a whopping $6,018,000 during a purse bid hearing held Thursday at IBF headquarters in Springfield, New Jersey and remotely via Zoom conference call for out-of-state registered promoters.

There was a reason Team Lopez wanted this to go to purse bid badly. They knew there was going to be a backer putting up big money for this fight. Well, now we know it was Triller! Cong**** to both Lopez and Kambosos for massive paydays.

Nearly a 4M purse for Lopez when his guarantee was only 1.25M. Job well done fellas!

TR only bid 2.3M for this fight so they weren't going much further than the guarantee for Lopez.

Hopefully this doesn't prevent Lopez from getting the winner of Ramirez/Taylor next.

That's a lot of money for a trash fight.

Wish more fighters have more balls to do this. But they want to wait around and hope a promoter would give them more money. Seriously Teo Lopez has shown he is smarter than most of the boxers that are ahead of him.

We have Porter sitting and talking about not fighting etc. When as the number 1 guy he can do the same s hit like this. But they would let themselves be controlled by an adviser, an adviser who doesn’t seem to have their best interests at heart.

Hopefully this opens more doors for others. Boxers need to be more intelligent like Lopez.

Triller made out GREAT with the Tyson/RJJ PPV. They will do just fine on this PPV as well. Likely will be the Jake Paul card. Expect another card that generates over 400-500k buys. Paul is the attraction here not even Lopez.

Interested in hearing Arum's comments. He can't possibly be upset here after seeing what Triller put up, right?

              Triller cosplaying as 2019 DAZN.

Will be interesting to hear Arum's take here. If it had gone to DAZN, that's really bad for ESPN and Arum would be incentivized to retaliate, but Triller is kind of a non-entity right now. Hard to imagine them making a dent given how crowded the market is.

Down the line, the [roblem is that Lopez might be asked to go into unification and make the same or less money than he makes against Kambosis. And then we're back to another standoff with Top Rank and a big fight wont get made because someone overpaid for a fight just to get it.

              Berto-Cotto all over again.

Lopez can do the same thing he did with kamboso and force a purse bid. He will be mandatory to whoever wins.

The winner can just drop the WBO belt. After they become the undisputed champion, it doesn't really matter to them if they keep the WBO belt or not. And the winner will soon move up to WW anyways.
