Comments Thread For: Josh Kelly Needs To Move Up To 154, He Was Out-hustled By Dav...

Josh Kelly will need to revisit the drawing board following his first professional loss to David Avanesyan. The 2016 Olympian Kelly (10-1-1, 6 KOs) was bloodied and battered throughout his sixth-round, welterweight affair at the SSE Arena in Wembley against Avanesyan (27-3-1, 15 KOs).

      He gets crushed at 154.

He’s simply not a good fighter.

154? His issues don't all of a sudden get solved going up to 154. He needs to tweak certain parts of his style.

Only thing he needs to tweak is his HEART!!
Unfortunately that is something that cannot be tweaked.
You either have it or you dont.
I am not sure he knows how to even spell it.

End of discussion really. Another domestic champion unfortunately.

154 is a big jump from 147 and Josh's poormans Philly Shell will be zero effective.

Lol pretty much any 154lb fighter inside the top 200 will just walk him down and drown him.

He was the bigger fighter, but he did not look to be the stronger fighter at all.

I find it awfully strange the way people seem to be in slight disbelief that Kelly was beaten.

Was Josh Kelly a Olympic Gold medalist, did he go to the Olympics? What has he actually done at amateur level?

So he did go to the Olympics, and has won a European Bronze Medal.

Kelly does look like he has some talent, but maybe Booth has overrated him slightly. This is a pivotal moment in his career, if he is good enough for world level 'He will evolve from this loss'.

Josh Kelly wants a rematch? So did Kerman Lejarraga, and look how that played out... Better move to 154 straight away.
