The "Messages" tab on the menu bar. You will see a white dot when something is in there.

Really? Did you check you settings? Maybe you have notifications turned off for post quotes.

You don't see the Messages tab, with a one dot (that means notification)

This new layout is extremely shhty and everything is all ***’d up. But after a few days exploring I’m kind of getting the hang of it. I understand the reasoning for needing thr upgrade but it could have been upgraded and still been able to keep things the same. This shít was a whole remodel.

The Dark Reader extension in the chrome web store works wonders for this new lay out. Especially for that huge banner on top of the page. Great thing about this extension is you can switch from light to dark mode anytime you want. The light mode turns the page gray which is easy on the eyes and you can still adjust the contrast and brightness for that mode too which is cool. Check it out!
