clottey got no killer instinct to finish his opponent.
he should learn from his sd lost to cotto.
cotto was blind from the left but clottey and his corner did not exploit the situation.
      clottey just lacks the smart....

This would be best case scenario for us. HBO putting on a fight so close to Christmas is rare.

With all due respect, there were no Puerto Rican judges officiating the Cotto vs Clottey fight. The judges and their respective scores are as follows: Don Trella - 116-111, John McKaie - 115-112 and Tom Miller - 113-114. No Latinos in the bunch; they're from CT., NY. and Ohio. The referee was Arthur Mercante Jr. In Cotto's 8 outing as a full fledged welterweight he's a Latino judge in only 3 fights: Jennings, Judah and Urkal. And they all ended in KO wins for Cotto, making the judging a moot point anyway.

Cotto didn't win the fight as much as Clottey lost it. Clottey had every opportunity to take the decision; especially after the third round headbutt injury. Clottey, for reasons known only to him, GAVE AWAY THE LAST ROUND! The the flash knockdown (early in rd 1 or 2 ) in addition to giving up the last round cost him the decision.

Apparently judge Tom Miller agrees with your assessment that Clottey won. Unfortunately the other 2 judges did not concur.

In my opinion, although Clottey seemed flawless in his performance, he lost the decision by his own hand.

what the hell does the 1st round KD have anything to do with what happened down the stretch for Clottey?

This and my previous post is a response to King Flawless' contention that "I do believe he beat Cotto but the Rican judges didn't give him the nod, hence why Mosley gets no credit for the win."

In my initial post I understood that your statement about the "Rican" judge was addressing the Clottey fight but now it appears that you may have also been referring to Mosley. In any case the facts remain the same because the judges in the Cotto vs Mosley fight were as follows: Glenn Feldman - 115-113, Wynn Kintz - 116-113 and Peter Trematerra 115-113. All of whom gave it to Cotto

Clottey can't handle Mosley. After watching the Cotto fight
I am convinced that Clottey will stay where he is at in the
sport. Not trying to rag on him because Clottey is a tough
guy but he just doesn't have that killer instinct to push him
over the top. The way he lets his opponents tee off on him
to wait for one counter opportunity will be his down fall
against Mosley. Molsey has too much speed and power
to allow him to get off on you. Cotto had the right plan
and that was to box Mosley, I don't think Clottey will beat
                      Mosley.
