  • I like the way Cotto broke Pacquiao's list down without too many
words. Puts a different perspective on them if you look at them
like that. Cotto better be ready to back up what he talks. I also
liked when he said he knows how to beat Pacquiao, so shows he
has a plan of attack. Seriously, he is going to need a strategy.

Either that he's too small(which Cotto has), or that his past accomplishments are overrated(Cotto has). Every fighter was KOed that has said this. It's almost like Pacquiao's aura of invincibility look in the ring get's his opponents intimitated to the point they have to think of anything just to believe they can win. While I'd give Cotto the best shot out of Pacquiao's last 3 opponents, I find it funny how he sounds just like the last 3.
Cotto made a point in a way. Pacquiao toughest fights have been
against live wires who can hang with him. If Cotto comes to the
ring as the Cotto before Margarito/Clottey he can win BUT the
way Cotto gets tagged and has been wobbled in some of his
biggest fights by lesser speedy guys than Manny, makes me think
that if he doesn't tighten that D up he could get caught slipping
BUT Cotto has showed durability in his fights at 147. Lil Pac
would have to totally out class Cotto to dominate and beat him.
My thing about Cotto was always his vulnerability and lack of
efficient defense AND I know Freddie Roach will find something
to exploit. Cotto should be able to put Pac away IF he fights
smart BUT if he's not on his A game, then he's done.

      • I wonder who Pacquiao is going to have to turn his attention to if Mayweather gets nailed with this gun charge. Cotto is not going to beat Pacquiao because he always struggles against guys who bring the fight to him. I don't care how small Pacquiao seems to be to a lot of people, he is going to let it all hang out in this fight, and if Cotto is not willing to be assertive with his attack he will get chewed up.

If he wins, and if Mayweather is indicted, he'll either fight Marquez or Mosley.

Pac always struggles with fighters who have very good timing and accuracy - both of which Cotto has.

And Pac is likely to fight Cotto similarly to how he fought De La Hoya - he won't trade.

Does it mean that should Cotto loses to Pacman in Nov. 14, the fans would not repect Cotto's last victories? Common!

Agree with this one. Both Cotto and Pacman has his advantages and disadvantages and the fighter who can make the most of his advantages over the other's weaknesses and execute his well thought of fight plan shall prevail.

Remember that Pacquiao is coming from 108 lbs to 140 lbs (except for DLHY at 147), so he's really not tested by a true WW but that doesn.t mean that he can't take the punch of a Cotto. That we will see come Nov. 14. Pacman use to spar with men bigger than him. I still believe that the odd is still even between Cotto and Pacquiao.

Beleive me, for this fight he will be over 148 fight night because he has 2 consecutive fight at 140 or over and they will concentrate on his strenght, there fore they will try to build him bigger and stronger without losing his speed.

On Cotto side, I agree that he will be close to 158 but that's it. Cotto has never weigh in over 160 (fight night) for any fight, even when he has weight in at 147 weighed in.
What makes you think that he will weigh 160lbs or more with a 145 weight limit????
By these facts the difference between both boxers will be 10lbs or less (IMO more close to 8) not the 10 lbs+ you say. We have seen in the past difference on fights night, between boxers of the same division and that have weighed in the same on the weigh in for the fight.
Example, have you not seen that Clottey has weighed in at 147 and fight night has gone up to 168, and like that, there have been plenty of fighters that have gone up almost 20 lbs from the limit during fight night.

                  Argument???
                  prsi brah,

look at pullcounter's signature pic. that was his rehydration weight 2 years ago. he's technically a middleweight. 159 vs oktay orkal. How much is he gonna weigh in now that he's 2 years older & its harder for his body to lose weight?

& why do you keep on bringing up how much pac weighs on fightnight vs oscar & marquez? 140 pounders dont weigh in at 140 lbs on fight night just like welterweights dont weigh in at 147 on fight night.

There is a reason why miguel cotto stopped allowing hbo to get his weight on fight night.....

Pacquiao has never come in at 150. his heavy weight is 148 at most.
He came at 148 when he came from a 135 weight limit fight, he now has 2 fight over that division therefore his body has adapted to a bigger size and it wont be the same as the DLH, it would be only heavier. Once again IMO 150.

But if a punch like the one thrown by Pacman that knocked out Hatton landed on that chin of Cotto, for sure the canvas has a place for him to sleep with.
