If he wins, and it definitely is still an IF...he will be the WBO welterweight champion. The records will show this.
agreed but every fighter should have the opp to make the weight between that range

'Furthermore, a catch weight does not invalidate a title match as long as both fighters are under the division limit and above the limit of the previous division upon the weigh-in. When asked about the catch-weight situation, Francisco “Paco” Valcarcel explained that if a welterweight fight takes place between 141 and 147, it has to be for the title. Valcarcel also cited the De La Hoya/Hopkins WBO Middleweight Title Match as a precedent in which an agreed upon catch weight of 158 pounds did not impinge on the sanctioned title bout.'

I never gave a damn about the belt being on the line for this fight. But I'm going to call it how I see it. Cotto did not agree on his own to put the belt on the line. He got bullied and backed into a corner by the WBO on some straight Suge Night, Debo gangster ****. They straight up told Cotto he had to pay them the sanction fee's weather or not he defended the belt, or else he would be stripped and the belt would be on the line only for Manny. Then what else could Cotto do but use it as a negotiation tool. He did it because he had to, not because he planned to.

I told all them crybabies cotto didn't care about the weight, all he cared about was the money. But them fools still bitched n moaned about the catchweight.

                I call bull**** on all u ho's.

If they just complained about the money, then that'd be ok, but they bitched about the catchweight and made it seem like a big deal. Now all them bitches look even ******er.
