Whoever said he should fight at 154 doesn't have a clue! He can barely make 160. When he fully matures physically he may even not be able to make 168. He is a true Light Heavy IMO and there is no way he could compete at that weight class. But regardless of that he is a 160 today and considered a top MW prospect. I encourage everyone to watch Fernando Guerrero or Dominic Wade this Saturday night to see true middleweight prospects that are not a product of a ODLH hype job.http://www.*********extra.com/cc/prizefight/
Where do you stand on Danny Jacobs?

Jacobs has all the talent in the world,BUT sometimes he doesnt use it,he reminds me of Jermain Taylor, the first 4 rounds he'll look sick, then he'll start to get tired, and he'll get hit with shots thruout the fight he shouldent be getting hit with
Jacobs has had a HUGE amateur background, one of the best out of any pro boxer today, hes won how many golden gloves? But his fights against Ishe and Michael Walker has shown us alot,he doesnt hit AS hard as his record suggests,he has got power to knock u down and stop u,but not concussive power like Kirklands, hes got alot of speed but sometimes uses it to keep his opponent of rather then hurt the opponent, and he gets irritated when the opponent dont stop coming foward, and is sometimes too easy to hit
He's still learning, but he isnt nowhere ready for the top 10 yet,IMO he needs to move up to 168,for most of his fights hes always fought at a catchweight of 162,i dont think he can make middleweight easyComment

I think he's good enough to pick up a vacant title or something after 5-10 more fights but will never be a dominant champion.
I've seen all his televised fights and have withheld judgement, but he showed too many flaws against Smith, got hit too much and even stunned by the smaller guy who is not even a real KO threat at 154.
He threw pitty-pat punches which scored points but weren't enough of a deterrent to keep Smith off of him.
That kinda crap won't fly against the top MWs, even with the current downswing the division is experiencing.
He reminded me of an even more amateurish Jermain Taylor, TBH, except I think Taylor carries more power and uses better defense. JT never put himself in a position to be against the ropes taking huge shots from a B level 154 lber with limited power.Comment

well..most people on here were saying smith was going to cause him problems..and smith did..it was his first step up against a really difficult guy to look good against..i dont get how everyone is starting to disown him when he just made his first step up against somebody as tough and awkward as ishe smith..he always could of went in there with somebody who had a big name but was washed up..but no he took a really difficult opponent like ishe smith..and as for jacobs getting wobbled in that fight..i think that has something to do with the fact that hes not really used to being hit flush..especially in combination like smith did a couple of times to himComment

I thought Smith would be difficult to hit and not press the action.
Smith DID press the action though, and that's where Jacobs disappointed me in his reaction to being pressured by a smaller man who doesn't have a reputation for being a big puncher.
Not only that, but Jacobs threw most of his punches just to score points, without any bad intentions on them. Maybe because Smith is hard to hit and he didn't want to commit too much to his shots, I dunno, but it was definitely a turn off.Comment

Thank you!
my goodness some of you really need to follow the sport better.
as for the subject if some of you were soured on GC after the Smith answer this simple question
has anyone looked good against Ishe?
Mora? arugably lost
Julio? arguably lost
Wolak? exposed
Ishe has a style that you simply cannot look good against and Jacobs had to stay busy rather than sit down on his punches to get the W
he did and lets not forget just one fight ago he stopped an opponent who had never been hurt or close to being stopped prior in WaltonComment
