**** even American Football and Nascar get a bigger following on Sky than Boxing.

Amir khan could walk from one side of london to the other and literally never be stopped for an autograph if he wanted too.

Hatton has a huge following (In boxing terms) but thier are teams in the 3rd tier of English football that draw a weekly gate higher than any fight he could sell in the UK.

Froch couldn't sell a rosary bead to a nun.

So u tellin me rowing & cycling are bigger in the UK than boxing? boxing doesnt even crack the top 10?

sure brah. sure. all i know espn & fox sports have never hyped up andre dirrell or jeff lacy or andre ward or any young american fighters. they barely mention first ballot hall of famers & long time professional boxers.

like are you ****in serious? you think a normal everyday brit knows who Kell Brook, nathan cleverley or tyson fury are? no they ****in dont. americans dont know about andre dirrell the same way brits dont know about kell brook.

all i know is sky sports is a major network in britain & they cover those guys. dont pretend they dont to fit your arguments. as for kell brook & nathan cleverly i never mentioned those guys.

I can make a poll question right now asking if hatton or david haye is hyped up & it will look like the above poll. only brits fail to see or dont wanna see.

This is why 99.9% of posters on boxing scene are dumb. How can former and current world champions be hypejobs?

For me a hypejob is someone like Victor Ortiz. A guy who was touted as a future p4p champion, but quit when the going got tough.

But how anybody can call Hatton, Hamed, and Haye, hypejobs confuses me. Multiple world champions deserve their hype.

Sports bigger than boxing in the UK -

          Football
          Rugby
          Cricket
          Golf
          F1
          Moto GP
          Tennis
          Snooker
          Athletics

Boxing is a niche market in the UK. There are only a couple of national papers who have a weekly column covering the sport, and 9 out of 10 people couldn't tell you who David Haye is.

And Sky Sports is the only major national sports channel. Kell Brook and Cleverly only get exposure on shows lesser in stature than Friday Night Fights on ESPN.

The 80's and 90's were the glamour years for British boxing. We will never see those times again.

Exactly this is boxing scene tho.. if you lose once your either a bum or hype job. Then you got some idiot Pac fan who probably started watching boxing a year ago calling Hamed a bum and hypejob.

yet almost all fighters you yanks mention as being hypejobs from britain are barely even known in britain, never mind hyped.
