                So what?

Altough he didn't look much Galento was a tough good pressure fighter. He had decent power and cut the ring well.He was coming off a good string of wins prior to the title shot and had 30 lbs on Louis.

Tony Galento was a 3-time amateur champion of New York and a boxer with more than 100 professional bouts. He was only an embarrassment to himself for not taking boxing seriously enough.

Either way he could throw a hell of a left hook and was an extremely awkward opponent to fight. Louis did think it was embarrassing himself but it's not like he was ever in danger of losing that fight despite a flash knockdown.

The one time that Galento did take his training seriously, he was able to go to the 14th round and stop the biggest prospect at that time Lou Nova. It was a foul-filled affair however.
