What does that have to do with anything? Who did he take that belt from? Baldomir who had 9 losses.

If he brings nothing to the table expect him to get nothing.

Mosley's five losses have stripped him of his commercial appeal. After Mosley turned down the Mayweather offer ("my tooth, uh, my vacation") SSM then went and fought Luis Collazo at Mandalay Bay. There were 4,000 people at that fight. And it was on WCB.

If Mosley was a guy with losses, but retained his commercial viability (Gatti, Oscar, Hopkins, Trinidad, etc), Floyd would have GLADLY fought him. But Mosley wants a payday, without bringing a fanbase of his own. You are a hardcore boxing fan. You will watch the fight. But Joe Average doesn't watch Shane fights.

You may ask " Floyd is fighting Marquez, and JMM doesn't have a fanbase". You would be wrong, my friend. Need proof? Go look at what Pacquiao sold when he fought Marquez, then look at what Pacquiao sold when he fought Diaz.

So, Shane is that "negative trifecta": a risky fight, who doesn't bring fans, yet wants a sizeable purse.

People are not scared of Shane. Shane just doesn't bring anything to the table. Which is why he is still begging for other fighters' scraps at this point in his career.

Shane is not a pimp. He is a ho.
Lets look at this real quick: You are saying it is ok for floyd not to fight shane mosley (the WW champ) because he doesnt bring enough to the table and wants a big purse.

I see what you are saying and i understand but dont try and justify the fact that floyd wont fight the champ by saying he wont make enough money.

Mayweather is ducking Mosley in a smarter way than he did with Cotto and Plastercheato.
What was he thinking when he answered that Merchant question about Cotto: " Boxing will not retire me, i will retire from boxing."

What kind of crap excuse is that?
Mud slinging. They bad mouth each others situation because they have had back and forth dialogue for year about fighting. Maybe one day they both will want to fight at the same time.

No sir. I'm not justifying anything. The TS asked "why does Mayweather...", and I'm explaining the rationale from Floyd's perspective.

Whether we agree or disagree with Floyd was not the issue.

I think that an asteroid will hit the earth before Mayweather gets the balls to fight Mosley. Mayweather ducked Mosley at the time that Mosley was the interim WBC champ at 147, and that is why Mosley had to fight Cotto. I had Mosley beating Cotto, but I still got to give Animalistic credit for making this thread.

The reason why Mosley turned down Mayweather in 2006 (And I've said this until I'm blue in the face) is because Mayweather did not give Mosley any time to drop down from 154 to 147 after he had just fought in September. And the De La Hoya factor had a lot to do with it. Mosley just made up an excuse about a loose tooth because it looked better than just flat out saying he did not want the fight for no particular reason. And as mentioned above, Mosley aggressively pursued a fight with Floyd at the time that Mosley held the WBC interim title. But what did Floyd do? He fought a British beer drinking punching bag who got a gift decision against a guy that Mosley had just dominated.

Also the Forrest fight wasn't going to happen at all. Mosley was trying to get a fight with Gatti, but Oscar got the fight instead.

I think Shane will be on his death bed before Floyd decides to fight him.
