Nacho:Speed is not there for Marquez

Don't know if this has been posted already, but it seems Marquez has had trouble keeping his speed since gaining muslce in preparation for his September clash with Mayweather Jr.

    From Philboxing:

"Juan Manuel is very strong, he looks like a natural welterweight, but it worries me a lot that we can't get to the speed level that we are looking for us to be at ease, we can't compete with a fighter of the quality of Floyd Mayweather with that fu***** lack of speed. The sparring partners are not a problem, it is the work we did to increase the muscle. He is tense and as I said he is very strong and buffed, but he has no speed at this point and that is because the weight lifting he did was excessive. Is like a soccer player after working with weights they are strong but they lack the speed and the rhythm to compete. That is the way Juan Manuel is right now I am desperate at this point. But there is still time to get him speed but the problem is that the weight lifting is giving us a hard time." said Nacho who know Juan Manuel extremely well."

why the *** was he lifting in the 1st place? he walks around @ 140+ so why not train as usual?

nacho just goes to show u that he is an average trainer at best, but they could jus be blowing hot air for strategy sake. I mean who does this b4 a mega bout?

        maybe its a way out.

          could be mind games

i doubt he would come out and say this if it were completely true. perhaps a way to have floyd subconsciously under-estimate marquez come fight night.

those two were dumb, real dumb. If a guy walks around at 140lbs, then wouldn't you think it would extremely tough for him to make 140+ in fighting condition? Or have you ever watched boxing before?

Nacho an avg trainer, well I guess all those champions he's trained just did that themselves.......

Some people make you shake your head..

For the third time...This article is fake....Nacho was on a spanish language television station saying the exact opposite today.

He said that JMM had carried his speed to WW and that everything was on point.

                  My question is:

Why the **** would Nacho reveal this info?

When you're training, you NEVER tell your opponent that you're weak in a certain area. You never tell them that you sprained your left hand or else your opponent will take advantage.

So why would a trainer like Nacho do that?

I think these are mind games...or the interview never happened.

Average trainer at best? You don't know ****. The only thing this say is he's not that good of a good strength and conditioning coach.

If you walk around at 140+ and you're training profusely, you're going to lose weight. The weights would help him maintain or gain weight better.

Pac nuthuggers are trying all they can to downgrade and diminish Floyd and this fight, I wouldn't be surprised if Nacho said the opposite.
