    • If only one shot him then isn't it be unfair to give the death penalty to the others? those guys wouldn't have intended to kill but maybe just the man that shot him did? but the man who shot Vernon deserves it.

Anyone care to clear that **** up for me?

      Thanks.

why don't we decapitate people or shoot them in the head now? because it's a cruel and unreasonable thing to do under any circumstance. how does it help the justice system to lower itself to the same act that those murderers did?

it's just... ******. the fathers of your own country believed it, and they clearly stated it

          ********* VIII

Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.

i'm not asking you to "educate yourselves" for bragging and that ****. it's just so people can see what some americans saw decades ago. killing killers isn't right, it just does more harm where harm has been already made

On July 1, U.S. District Judge Jed S. Rakoff of the U.S. 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan, found the death penalty "deprives innocent people of a significant opportunity to prove their innocence" and "creates an undue risk of executing innocent people," and thereby violates the Constitution's Fifth ********* guarantee to due process of law.

it goes against the most important justice body of a nation... why should it be practiced?
ok everybody gets your points but what some people are trying to tell you is that putting mugs like that in prison isnt really punishing them. Prison to some isn't so bad and alot of people have no problem with doing time inside. With that being said, alot of prison sentences dont always act as a detterant to criminals and they carry out the crimes anyway. Maybe with the death penalty around more of these ***s might think twice before taking someones life.

No, it's not. It really depends where you go and how you take it. Honestly, as someone else said, it is often a better home than the one outside for a lot of guys.

This is absolutely true. If you think the life you have lived outside compares to what can be lived outside, you need a perception change my good man. Prison can often be a real haven for certain inmates. They can get peace, education, they can get away from influences, they can get away from poverty, drug addiction, they have counsellors, psychiatrists etc etc etc. It can all be had in there too, but it is harder and you have to find the right people first and often that can be more difficult but if you want to change it is easier to do on the inside than it can be outside.

I wish I could agree with you but it just doesn't work that way. These things happen in the heat of the moment where no laws will enter peoples minds and no death penalty thoughts will break through.

What needs to happen in the good ol' U S of A is that no guns need to be allowed. Harsh penalties need to be applied to murder! Don't get me wrong, but doing only that will not help the cause. The fact is that the whole system needs an upheaval. The Fat Yanks are generally ****ed up. The whole ****** gangsta mentality rules too much and creates too much violence early on to stop it later. Guns need to be banned, education needs to go up, homelessness needs to go down.....etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc. Too much to say any one thing is truly needed. It's all one and the same and there is so much that needs to be done but the least of which is the death penalty. Guns should be outlawed well before that.

                • Don't exactly agree with the "death penalty", but life imprisonment isn't exactly a fair "trade-off". Forrest is dead. These clowns will be in the company of fellow low-lifes and they will adjust. Most of all, at the expense of taxpayers. Suggestion: Release them to family members and friends and turn your back.

they wouldn't serve time in jail, they'd waste the rest of their life in there

btw, death penalty doesn't scare a murderer or prevents a crime. people who don't care about murdering don't care how they end up either. "The only ones who should kill are those prepared to be killed"

prison sentences aren't made to scare off people, they're made to try and "measure" a punishment that serves not only to have a safe society, but to try and reform those who commit the offense or crime. if it's impossible, then you exclude them from society. if they like being excluded in jail for the rest of their lives, then good for them

there's no explanation to it. the world is ****ed up, and people think of revenge as some sort of justice

we might as well go back to using the hammurabi code
