I'm against the death penalty too but i feel exactly like this poster on this one. Life would be better though as the death penalty is too cowboy. But hey, no quells with this one.Comment

a couple of years ago, an innocent rican was put on death row. he was there for 19 years. it was later proven that the state had found the true criminal had been found, yet the state let the rican SEVEN YEARS on death row while knowing that he was innocent!
he was set free and the state offered him hundreds of millions to compensate for their "mistake", yet he refused them

It costs the taxpayer 50 bucks per inmate to house them for one day. One day. As of 2006 2.3 million people were incarcerated in the American prison system. Do the math.
That adds up to $1,150,000.00 of total cost to house every inmate for a single day.
Multiply that by the 365 days in the year.
It's astronomical.
I say we bring the firing squads back.
And like you said, 3% innocent is a margin I can live with.
