Paulie Malignaggi Rips Into Van Hoy Over Scoring Excuses

It didn’t take long for Paulie Malignaggi’s phone to start ringing. Earlier today, BoxingScene.com posted a news brief pertaining to Michael Marley’s recent interview with Texas judge Gale Van Hoy. Malignaggi’s beef with Van Hoy is no secret to BoxingScene readers. A few days before the actual fight with Juan Diaz, Maligngagi went on the record with BoxingScene to publicly voice his concerns about the officiating in Houston, Texas. The one individual, who stood in Malignaggi’s mind as a biased official, was Gale Van Hoy. After the official scores came down last Saturday night, it was no surprise to Malignaggi that Van Hoy’s card was a one-sided 118-110 ledger for Diaz. [details]

Not surprised. The card was far from on point, atleast make the scoring a little more disguised if your going to favour another fighter. For me, if the card was a little more realistic, Diaz would have got away with it without to much problems.

Of course Pauli is right, Diaz's face was a mess after the fight with two cuts and swelling. It looked like he had been massacred really.

Out of the total punches he threw how many were jabs?

You cant win close round on jabs alone.

i just watched the fight and my score was right with ledderman, i just can't believe the judges scored it the way they did. It was clearly a malignaggi fight.
