Idk the ref from the Ortiz vs Maidana fight was pretty horrible, at least this guy didnt let the fighters take shots in the back of the head like Maidana kept hitting Ortiz.

Are you serious? I didn't notice anything wrong with the refereeing in that fight at all. Maidana is a crude slugger but he battered Ortiz in an exciting fight - leading to Ortiz quitting. There was no controversy.....

And Cole does suck. I think Robert Byrd is the worst tho. Lil ***** is issuin warnings every other flurry. Can't stand that mofo.

jay nady has to be the worst mang. most overprotective referee who stops the action & warns to damm much. nobody comes close to jay nady.

Laurence Cole's actions this past saturday just reaffirms his standing as the worst referee in the business. Ive had a gripe with this scumbag referee ever since the first Pacquiao vs Barerra fight which took place in san antonio texas.

In that fight which was oscar de la hoya's first fight with his first client marco antonio barerra, cole ruled a obvious slip on pacquiao a knock down. later on in the fight pacquiao punches barerra who goes down but rules it a slip, a couple of rounds later barerra goes down in what looks like a slip but scores it a knock down.

In his next high profile blunder, he was the referee for the juan manuel marquez vs jimrex jaca fight. this was the fight in which he told marquez after being cut that he was ahead on the scorecards, he was suppose to be suspended but he still continues to get high profile jobs whenever fights take place in texas.

Now his most recent **** up job comes this past saturday. i should say **** up jobS because he was horrible in the ishe smith danny jacobs fight but lets just stick to the juan diaz vs baby bull fight.

This guys asks the judges was it a punch that caused the first cut on diaz which was correctly pointed out by harold lederman as something u dont do as a referee. Later on in the fight, a second cut on diaz appeared, & in the end of that round you can hear laurence cole audibly ask "was it a elbow that caused that punch?" Then in the beginning of the round he grabs diaz & makes a accidental headbutt ruling.

Yup hes a good one too. but sometimes likes the sound of his voice too much. gets involved in the fights a little bit too much. Nonetheless, a solid referee.

John Schorle is another good one.

yup. his family sells insurance to fight promoters. He's a horrible & incompetent referee. Even the way he breaks up his clinches are weird;

he breaks them up, stands in the middle & looks at each fighter till eternity, then lets them fight. I think he's seriously a mental handicap.

I dont think he has a mental handicap. I just think he's biased as hell. He's always on the side of 1 particular fighter.

Like even when it was malignaggi being held by Diaz to keep him on the inside. Instead of cleanly and firmly calling for a break Lawrence Cole would slap away Malignaggi's glove even though Diaz has a kung fu grip on Malignaggi's elbow. He's going to break a fighter's arm like that 1 of these days.
