Enzo Calzaghe is overrated

Without Joe, Enzo is just another trainer. He is not world class to begin with, how many World Class fighters do you see queuing to get into his camp? Exactly.

well he had 3 world champs at the same time in his gym and some other decent domestic fighters like lockett(WBU),cleverley,pryce so he cant be that bad
hes a decent trainer,no1 really rates him anyway so this is a moot point really

He was overrated in the sense that Ring gave him Trainer of the Year. But then again, he did get fluff like Enzo and Gavin Rees to world titles which is something. Apart from Joe, he hasnt had much to work with.

We all know that I am one of the few unbiased guys here but my liking for Joe as a fighter got me thinking about how good Enzo is as a trainer. The JC style was always very unorthadox and relied heavily on speed and workrate more than technique so I've come to the conclusion Enzo only seems to know how to get guys in shape rather than teach them anything. If Joe wasn't born with the natural ability he had I fear his dad wouldn't be able to take him to the elite if he was ordinary. Thoughts?

And I think TOTY went straight to his head. There doesn't appear to have been much effort since as far as developing and building on that token of encouragement for the golden run Enzo was enjoying back then.
