    Enzo Calzaghe is overrated

We all know that I am one of the few unbiased guys here but my liking for Joe as a fighter got me thinking about how good Enzo is as a trainer. The JC style was always very unorthadox and relied heavily on speed and workrate more than technique so I've come to the conclusion Enzo only seems to know how to get guys in shape rather than teach them anything. If Joe wasn't born with the natural ability he had I fear his dad wouldn't be able to take him to the elite if he was ordinary. Thoughts?

he made enzo mac and gavin rees world chamions ffs, he cant be bad!! U cant blame him for macs chin, u cant coach that.

also made gary ****in lockett wbu champ!!!

Pryce commonwealth champ, and trained cleverly.

3 world champions at the same time in his gym, who he trained from the start (well im not sure about enzo mac being there from the start).

Not bad for someone who taught himself how to coach boxing.

Enzo has never been "rated" to begin with. No other big fighter asked to work with him, nobody makes his praises. Yoel Judah is already much better.

Yeah hes overated. JC never lost when his dad was in his corner. But that was only because he was his dad and like a good luck supersticios charm. ENzo didnt help maccarineli too much.

But whats the big deal with Enzo retiring? He is old now isnt he?

First of all Gary Lockett doesn't need any trainer he's just that good. Secondly Enzo didn't exactly have the best game plan for Macca against the hard hitting Haye did he. What was the strategy? Bum rush the stronger guy with your hands down that'll confuse him right?

that fight was always gonna be about who landed first.

He was even more ****** after he left Enzo Cal. Making a guy like Enzo mac a world champion (with a LOT of help from Frank Warren) is a great achievement.

You can't be overrated if no one really rates you.

His stable collectively lost the plot in the last 18 months, but until then he did a hell of a job with some pretty average fighters who he got super fit and tactically outwitted many trainers who were much more highly thought of.

Has he officially retired? Probably for the best really.
