Not necessarily. Someone posted a vid of Cotto "training" for Pac recently and even the cardio he's doin is pretty light.

I'm assuming he'd start light, so that the drop can be more gradual and less demanding.

Don't boxers usually train for 6-8 weeks b4 the fight???

I'm not sure how much he weighs right now, i think the weight could be the only reason for him to start so early!!!!! Pretty much like hatton. He had to have 3 month training camps to get back down to fight weight!!!
No, they are just trying to keep Miguel off the Yayo and booze long enough to clean his system out, the way this kid starts bleeding, with all those toxins in his system, he just can't hold his mud that well in a fight as of late

Sig think about all Cotto's cuts back to the Zab fight....

The lip being busted from the inside was deffiently from a straight left hand from Zab...But the eye was a butt.

Shane Mosley head Gash was a butt in the 11th i believe.

Margarito was just an ass whoopin Margs made him bleed out of his broken nose...no open cuts...i believe.

Clottey was a massive head butt....

Only time Cotto has been opened up with a gash by a punch was in the Zab fight and that was inside his mouth.

                Good Conditiong coach?

Im sorry but Cotto gas too many times in the later round. His whole training staff is what held cotto down for a while. If he had better people around him(cutman, trainer, conditioning coach) he would be an alot better fighter now.

i think making 145 is the biggest reason why he started camp early. but miguel should be ok

he's jogging/running and hitting the bag. many people in here can do that without over training themselves, so i doubt cotto will suffer that fate

he'll begin his intensive training by september
