  • Is COTTO starting training TOOOOO early?????

Look obviously he's the professional and knows his body better than anyone, but he's already started to train and the fight is 3 months away.

Don't boxers usually train for 6-8 weeks b4 the fight???

I'm not sure how much he weighs right now, i think the weight could be the only reason for him to start so early!!!!! Pretty much like hatton. He had to have 3 month training camps to get back down to fight weight!!!

Dude needs endurance. I'm sure he'll be fine. Cotto is a professional.

He says he's training but it's kind of a joke at the moment. All he's doin is usual roadwork and some light shadowboxing.

I would guess that he just wants to better his cardio.

The seeds of the overtraining excuse have been planted.

Pacman's undertraining excuse is being incubated in case of emergency.

Cotto is a smart guy, he has a good conditioning coach as well, so he should now what he is doing.

The longer training is better so long as you dont push too hard too early , the longer time frame builds a better base , the trouble comes when they keep raising the bar too early instead of just sitting at 1/3 load for longer which builds the base , its probably more of a mental boost for Cotto knowing he is working while Pac is not .

From what he has said, it's not really intense training. It's to build stamina and endurance and to lower his weight so that he won't have to lose all that weight too fast. Shouldn't affect him in a negative way.

I doubt he's sparring.. let's put it that way.

He's probably just staying low in weight so he doesn't have to drop so big for the last 3-4 weeks. Makes sense. Should improve his cardio, aswell.
