move up for bigger opportunities all the time, Floyd moved
through 5 divisions and the same with other boxers, fighters
have to fight at a weight they never fought at before all the
time. JMM moved up to Light weight and knocked two bigger
guys who were comfortable in that division and were champions.

Why should Floyd have to come back and fight a bigger guy
after a two year lay off? Cotto had a 7 month lay off and came
back to fight Jennings for a vacant title when Williams was looking
for a fight. What makes Cotto more dangerous than JMM? JMM
technical fight game is superior to Cotto's. The only thing Cotto
has is a bigger punch with NO strategy. A fighter who thinks
is always more dangerous than a guy who just has a punch
because you can take the punch away but you can't take the
      ring IQ away.
difference is that cotto fought clottey, mosley and margarito and the only person missing from that list is Williams and floyd.

Floyd fought who before he retired and talk **** that he going to beat them and use the excuse that they are not a draw and turn around and made marquez move up 2 division after showing that he has struggled alot and was losing before he stop the two light weights.

And then people act like Marquez is an athletic freak like pacquaio when reality that pacman is a freak of nature when it comes to carrying speed and power to higher rate. Marquez is more skilled but not close as athletic as pacman. And if you actually seen marquez last two fights you would know that he was alot slower and was losing before he stop both casamayor and juan diaz and look like a common mexican fighter who block with his face instead of a technician. Now add 10 pounds to marquez who just came from 2 straight wars against floyd who arguably more athletic than pacquaio, and more smarter than marquez in ring, and you got a fighter who just have his brain vs floyd who got a combination of brain, speed, and defense.

And the thing is that floyd is one of my favorite fighter but if he beat marquez and then fight andre berto, timothy Bradly, or ricky hatton or even another light weight fighter, he will be a ***** in my book by far and he will go down to my hatred fighter. But right now im thinking he is going to fight Cotto or pacquaio and using marquez as tune up can take away all his ring rust.

      • Whether or not Mayweather is scared of Pacquiao is open to debate. I've accused Mayweather of ducking certain guys, but this potential rivalry wasn't realistic a couple of years ago. So to be fair, I don't think either guy is scared of the other. But what can't be debated is, Pacquiao does not want to see JMM again. His face looked like it had been run over by a truck after the fight and he said in the post fight press conference that he was done with this Marquez business. And if he had given Marquez a rubber match at least a couple fights later, Pacquiao would've eliminated that option for Mayweather if he beat JMM again. He took $3 million to fight David Diaz when he could've got $6 million to fight JMM. Do the math. I don't think the public would've accepted a Mayweather-JMM fight if Pacquiao was 2-0-1 with JMM.

miguel cotto is overrated just face it! I'm tired of
being nice to you cotto fans that only see things
one way. It's not about me being a floyd fan or a
cotto hater, it's about what it is and miguel cotto
is good but not great and that's the truth. Skill
wise he is not a complete fighter bottom line.

But Manny Pacquiao could not convincingly beat
            Juan Manuel Marquez BOTH TIMES!
AND JMM beat two top fighters at light weight that
have NEVER been KO'd or stopped in their careers.....
Who did Pacquiao beat at 135? Diaz? Come on man.
I don't see how people have Pacquiao so much higher
on the food chain than JMM when in actuality Pac
couldn't even take out JMM even after flooring him
3 times in two fights AND didn't even compete at
135 like JMM. I like and think Pacquiao is a very
good fighter but the way people are belittling JMM
to make Pac look great is CRAZY because Pac couldn't
            convincingly beat JMM twice.

Hater? Miguel Cotto doesn't even have a good corner
is that fact or fiction? You guys are too emotional
when it comes to boxers/fighters. Look at how he fought
Margarito? He had NO strategy! Sure he was fighting better
than Margarito because he is better but once he saw he
couldn't stop margarito he had NO back up plan AT ALL.
And don't give me that plaster excuse because the same
could be said about that in the Williams fight. Richardson
and Mosley had a strategy to beat Margarito NOT Cotto.
Cotto didn't even throw 1 body punch which is his best
punch. Cotto is not a technical fighter. He's a polished
Juan Urango, just look at their styles and the fact that
they were trained by the same guy.

And no i dont believe the ref wouldv changed the outcome of that fight Floyd was too good that night. But he did get help from Cortez(I was rooting for Floyd in this fight) im not discrediting him, if anything i discredit Pac for fighting his leftovers. Judah wasnt dominating but he was winning the first half of their fight, and won more rounds against Floyd than he did against Cotto.
But the only difference is that Cotto got hurt by Zab and Floyd
didn't and Cotto fought Zab after Floyd. Cotto did beat Zab down
but Floyd beat Zab to the point where Zab had to cheat to get
out of a beat down Cotto did the opposite. Why can't people just
be real about everything and not just pick out pieces to make
things look how they want them to look. Floyd didn't fight everyone
but he is a great fighter and that's a fact. Sure he should fight
more guys but that don't take away from what he has accomplished
                already.

Do you have short term memory? Floyd chased Oscar
and Mosley to the WW division AND Mosley didn't even
want to fight Floyd. When Floyd was reigning champ where
was Clottey? Nobody even knew who he was. Cotto style
is tailor made for Floyd...Cotto= No defense and prone to
every punch in the book Floyd= greatest defensive counter
puncher to ever lace em up. Cotto would get picked apart
by Floyd. Cotto don't even have a good trainer and Floyd
has Roger and his pops, sorry fam, Cotto only has a punchers
chance and a very thin one. Didn't Floyd recently say that
he would knock Manny and Cotto out?

Cortez did his job. What was he supposed to do, let Hatton
hug Floyd all day? Cortez gave Hatton time but Hatton never
utilized or did anything effective to have Cortez keep letting
him hug Floyd. I think Miguel Cotto had more ref help than
anyone else....... Corley (Home town stoppage), Mosley (stopped
action to wipe up water), Clottey (Let Cotto slam and hit Clottey
in back of the head)...... Who has gotten more passes than
Miguel Cotto by referees in the ring?
