But if a Mosley vs Williams fight happens I will be happy. I hope Shane beats him bad. But it probably won't happen. Plus why fight a fight that you know you'll not win. Shane isn't a stepping stone for anyone

Pavlik, the middleweight champion, on Monday postponed his Oct. 3 fight with Williams because of a recurring injury to his left hand. And Goossen on Tuesday said he really wants to get Williams back in the ring in October because he has not fought since April.

Schaefer was asked if "Sugar" Shane Mosley - a welterweight champion who fights under the Golden Boy banner - might be able to step in and take Pavlik's spot against Williams - a former welterweight champion and current interim junior middleweight champion.

First of all, Schaefer didn't think it would be wise for Williams to come back down to welterweight after he had been training for a middleweight fight. He also said Mosley really doesn't want to move up in weight.

"So why try to have Paul Williams do something which I think would be difficult to do in such a short period of time and try to drop to 147?" Schaefer said, referring to the welterweight limit. "If I would be Paul Williams' promoter, I would really focus more on those other eight classes." [details]

Hopkins aint fighting Williams he's just using this to insert his name into the picture.

the dudes a genius at inserting himself strategically for the right fight right time. I think he will soon challenge Roy now that Roy has almost became relevant on the 175 scene. It would be a mega fight and mega money. If that dont happen though I could see him getting Williams up to 170 and creaming the kid. No hate on Paul but it would be a lot like the Pavlik fight except I dont think Williams has proved he has the chin to hang with Hopkins.

all of a sudden we are to believe that shabne would be willing to fight williams!!! get real!!!! shane is now hiding behind schaeffer.....and what concern would it be to Schaeffer if Williams struggled to make weight, then I'd think it would be to Mosley's advantage if that were the case.....Also Schaeffer is very eager to have Williams move up in weight to fight Hopkins, which would be a weight disadvantage for Williams......bottom line is that Mosely had many a chance to step up and answer williams calling him out, so what took him so long?

he kept chasing Mayweather and Pac-man, knowing full-well that each one of them said they weren't going to fight him....for months Mosley has been acting like a gilted girlfriend who's boyfriend tossed aside......

If Mosley is serious about continuing his career then a fight with Willaims or Clottey needs to be his next move....By the Way why is it that the WBA hasn't threatened him to defend his title or isk being stripped?
