huge superstars in europe you fucking moron.
ask any one in the western world who the hell vitali or wladimir klitschko are? .
They need to do something ******, like say they'll eat their opponents children or tell the female interviewers they want to fornicate with them, then they'll become big in America.
Or, they could keep saying "I'm the greatest" over and over again - that would get Americans' attention!

You people seem to forget that before all of the antics started with Tyson, he was one of the most famous and recognizable stars on the planet.
The KlitschkO's ARE HUGE superstars in Europe, NO American fighter can draw a crowd like Wlad did against Chagaev! Boxing is just more popular in Europe than it is in America right now and if the trend continues then Europe will be the new mecca of boxing.
What boxing superstars are there currently in the USA? None, DLH was the last. The fact is that boxing just isn't as popular in America as it was in Tyson and Holyfield primes. If either were fighting in their primes right now I doubt they'd be as big of stars as they were back in the day. We may never (at least anytime soon) again see a boxer get as much media hype in America because there's very few Americans with the talent to even be competitive with the wave of Europeans in boxing and even if there were I don't think the majority of Americans would care or pay to watch...

no you're talking about when he became a joke. tyson was huge in the late 80. mj huge.
Hes right but then again who cares if they aint popular in America?
America isnt the be all and end all, sorry but the arrogance is kinda annoying, they make loads of cash, they pull huge viewing figures in Europe,America doesnt know them,Big ****in deal.

Tyson became huge because of who he was as a fighter. He electrified crowds with his aggressive style and incredible knockout power. He also became heavyweight champ younger than anyone. Those things you're talking about Tyson saying were late in his career and at that point Mike was uncontrollable as a human being. Early in his career he was actually very respectful to the sport and his opponents.
Let's not confuse people, Mike was a great fighter and an exciting fighter, a combination rarely found.
unfortunately Mike is right by what he is saying. I personally try to tune in for all the klitschko fights but what would happen if they tried making one of their fights ppv?? Boxing is kind hurt anyways cuz outside of pacquiao, cotto and mayweather and a done hatton who would sale make numbers in ppv? I think the Roy Jones Jr. vs Lacy probably was the most significant ppv since Hatton Pacquiao and thats kind of embarrasing.
Wlad needs to go back to his old style( Mercer fight), if he can do more like he did in this fight, he 'll get more fans.
Tyson doesn't diss them but tell the truth. He respects the K bros but admits that they're not exciting. Wlad vs Chaga was horrible like the Sultan fight. Lennox Lewis was sometimes exciting, like he was against Grant, Botha.
The last time Wlad was in a great fight was the Sam Peter fight.
I knew the Klit huggers would hate this quote. Tysons trying to say that, even in other countries, should people know who you are, as the heavyweight champion. Ask someone who is a casual fan of boxing to name one heavyweight champion; what are the chances of it being Mike Tyson? Exactly. Tyson was known and will forever be known.
Put it like this, in the last 50 years, how many heavyweight champions are easily remembered, without trying too hard?
