Does any one on here honestly think that Hopkins can KO the Roy from now?

altho im one of the biggest roy fans on here... im also one of the most reserved when it comes to what roy can still do...

Dawson? no way...

But Bernard... its that Bernards style isnt overwhelming to Roy... they both throw about the same amount of punches... Bernard is a thinker in the ring... not a swinger... and thats what Roy needs... someone that will fight him and take their time... allowing Roy to do his OWN thing... but the 45 yr old athlete going on a 15 month layoff... meanwhile Roy coming into his 4th fight in 12 months...

Bernard may be the better skilled fighter at this point... but the activity level is a difference maker... and the fact Bernards style isnt Roys ******nite necessarily...

like I said.. I see a 12 round chessmatch... no easy clear winner for either...

Watch out for Naazim he filled Tito's gloves with feathers, sent Tarver a french chef, Winky a kitchen access pass to Burger King, and sent a ****** youngstown whore suffering from tuberculosis to Pavliks hotel before the fight.

The more I think about it the more I think hopkins would hurt Roy. This isn't a good fight for the sport, I wouldn't want to see Jones get KO'd again, no matter who the opponent is.

I'd put all my points on hopkins winning.

You have to be a real big guy to KO Roy even now. Tarver and Johnson are huge and were even bigger to skinny ass Roy who just came down 25 lbs of pure muscle.

Maybe Hopkins can decision Roy, but KO him? damn!

And anyways, I think Jones beats Hopkins because of his handspeed and Hopkins inability to adjust to fighters with decent handspeed(Taylor, Calzaghe). ROY HAS THE FASTEST HANDS AT LIGHT-HEAVYWEIGHT.(maybe Dawson does but Roy is not too far from Dawson in handspeed).

I don't think BHop would KO Roy, but I think he'd beat him at this point of both their careers. Granted, Roy looked good against Lacy, but only because he virtually let him. Bernard moves around the ring and has become a much more craftier dude since they last fought in '93. There's a reason why Roy was screamin 60/40 even after Bernard beat guys like Oscar, Winky, and even Tarver.

It would be an ugly match, but I see Bernard winning, and Roy's one of my all time fav's

To you it doesn't, but natas was referring to the countless mindboggling posts on this forum. You should have seen it after the fight. Some were saying that Roy would clown on Johnson and Tarver now, and would KO Calzaghe in under 6 rounds. Crazy stuff really. A lot of people were acting as if Roy was a past prime Ali that just beat George Foreman., not realizing this fight was more or less a tune up.
