Roy deserves credit for fighting as great as he did. I havn't seen Roy pull the trigger like that since the first tarver fight. even against badi ajamu, trinidad and hanshaw he didn't look like himself really. he looked ok, but this is the first time hes looked like RJJ.

I dont think hes going to be able to beat the elite fighters at 175, but i'm still impressed by what he did. and this is his best win since 2003 when he beat Tarver.

If this was in 2006 Lacy vs Jones would have been considered a dream fight as Jones was far too old to compete witht he young champion Lacy. Quite comical 3 years later what happened.

also comical that roy was demolished twice TWO YEARS before lacy ever was... and is almost 9 years older.

^one thing that is starting to piss me off is how people are acting like Roy was in his prime...and lacy was this old washed up fighter....wtf. isn't rjj suppose to be shot? isn't rjj 40 years old? Lacy was a top fight like 3-4 years ago and is 8 years younger. If Lacy never fought Calzaghe he probably would have never fallen off. Calzaghe is a bad match up for everybody.

              When the commentators mentioned

"Roy Jones was in the 1988 Olympic Games, Jeff Lacy was in the 2000 Olympic games."

I thought, Roy shouldn't be schooling him like this.

RJ still got the heart to fight. He ain't just in it for $. And apparently Sr does better for him than I thought. Sure Lacy is past his best. So is RJ for that matter. But RJ can still bring it more than I ever woulda guessed for a 40 yr old guy.

yeah i think for you to get a rel view on how good rjj is right now we have to forget his accomplishments of the past and try and see him as a new fighter and up and comer.

if a fighter i had never heard of before had put that whupping on lacy i would have said he could mix with some of the best at 170-175. i believe that rjj is looking something like his best, i think he has about 70-80% of what he had.

i still think he couldbeat alot of good fighters at LHW but dawson and adamek might be too muhc. but you never know...
